I love LoL art style, its comicy, but at the same time everything is bright and you can see everything with ease. Its really great.

Not being able to deny? What?

Personally I dislike that you cannot deny creeps (last hit your own creeps to deny the enemy gold and 50% exp), not having a built-in voice chat, the graphics (maybe too pretty/bright/clear/whatever for me :P) among other things; But, I'm not here to start an endless debate about which game is better or worse. The three games have their own appeal and are worth checking out so that you can individually choose which one you like best.

Looks like I've 2 invites left for dota2 and 3 for "Super Monday Night Combat" if anyone is interested.

I've tried out a lot of the games in this genre (Dota, LoL, Smite, HoN, Rise of Immortals, Dota2, ) and so far HoN is still my favorite despite having a really crappy community. I dislike LoLs graphic style and not being able to deny among other things, and Dota2 feels way too slow-paced for my taste after playing HoN (regular mode).... But all the three are decent games each is worth trying to see which one you like best. LoL is easier to jump into if you have never played the genre.

Anyway, I too, received a few invites since I've had the Dota2 beta and I still have one or two left if anyone else is interested in trying it out. Just send me a PM.

posted a message on How to make a behavior that damage Attacker(s)

Eh, I know this is an old thread but I just thought I would clear up the solution a little bit more should anyone stumble across this thread in the future:

On your behavior change the following:

    Behavior > Combat: Damage Response

    - Chance: Set chance to whatever you want the chance to be, 1 for 100%

    - Handled: Set here the effect you want to be executed on the attacking unit, such as a Damage effect.

    - Kind: Leave checked-in the kind of damage that you want to trigger the thorns effect. Ex. only ranged attackers or only spell damage will trigger the effect if only Ranged and Spell are checked-in.

    - Location: Set to Defender

posted a message on Modeling Monday [SC2Streamster]

Ah I see; Oddly enough I remember one of the versions of the wowviewer was able to export a few of them (most did not work) yet the most current cannot. Hopefully the expansion will come with exporter tools that support being able to do this then.

Technical issues a side, I would still love to learn how to make these effects though!

I would also like to suggest a tutorial on how to make some new "spell" effects. Could start by doing very basic ones; I think SC2 assets lack in this department for things other than missiles, explosions, and lightning.

No one besides me at sc2mapnight yet... and no response in the sc2mapster channel :(

Guess no one wants to come if your not there haha... I'll hang around for another hour or so and see if people want to get something going.

Edit: We got eventually a party of 6 and played a few games :)

On a related note, I would like to add my map to the list for next week: Shaman Arena.

Map night tomorrow night! 3/17/2011 at 8pm Eastern.

Never week (3/25/2011), however, I will not be available to host. If someone would like to take the reigns as the host for a week, it would be greatly appreciate. I'm also willing to reschedule if people are interested.

If no one has volunteered yet I can host tomorrow night. Not sure I can get the broadcast all setup right but I'm def up for game night this Friday!

posted a message on Shaman Arena: Looking for testers! [Alpha version ready!]

March 12th: Anyone who wants to check it out, I just uploaded a public test version in the PTR server :D

I had some problems with my UI files so the test version has a more "standard" UI layout, nonetheless the core of the game is there... Now if I could just get a few people to help me test out the mountain of imbalance and bugs it probably has, that would be great :P

What is the format of your model?

If you have it accessible in 3dmax, download NiN's plugins for it: and export it using the script. The link has detailed instructions i believe :)

March 12th: Anyone who wants to check it out, I just uploaded a public test version in the PTR server :D

    Hey guys,

I've been working on a project called Shaman Arena, it is a 3v3 arena (on the surface) based on a fantasy universe which in turn is based on Warcraft Shaman lore but not exclusive to it.

Anyway, the project is close to an early testing phase and I'm looking for US server player who would be willing to help me test it out.

If anyone is willing please let me know :)

More info on the project page, sc2mapster will be the project's host site and I'll slowly work on adding more information etc: http:www.sc2mapster.com/maps/shaman-arena/

    Thanks in advance guys :)

A couple of little preview screenshots to make you more likely to go and visit the project page at least: :P Preview screen 1 Preview screen 2 Preview screen 3

Sorry, no youtube vid yet hehe, hopefully once the testing starts I can attempt to make one.
