I'm sorry but creating towers for a tower defensive is a little basic. structure, actors, models, effects, weapon and ur done. I think Ill be going for Reach's offer, checking his TD and joining his RPG project.
USA is abit far away, but I might be able to use a visit to my big sister as an excuse to go to blizzcon, she's currently in Miami, USA is USA right?:P
Hi there, this is the first time I am looking for a team since I started using the starcraft 2 (and warcraft 3 before) editors. I am quite a good terrainer, but I allso know my way around the trigger editor and I am starting to learn the data editor. I am not so much looking for a big project as I am looking for a friendly team to further increase my skills with the editor. If you need me, you can send me a private message, post in this thread or email me at [email protected].
Preferred game style would be a 4+ player boss-map (orpg), but I would gladly take any project I think I am capable of. Please only contact me if you are not a quitter, because I cba to ending up with a half-done map.
Why would u wanna use data editor for that? It would only require a really short and besides easy trigger
Use a point variable for the point where the effect spawns and then use the action: make unit face point
If its for an ability, you can allso use make unit face: [point = target point of ability beeing cast]
k so for a trigger I am making which has to be multi player instancable, I need to return who clicked a dialog button in a variable array. Easiest way to do this would be to set a variable as array = [triggering player], the description of [triggering player] in this case is 'returns the triggering player as an INTEGER', though when I try to set a variable as triggering player, it gives an error in game, and seems not to work.
Does anyone know how to return a player number (player 1, player 2, player 3. etc) in a variable for a multi player instancable map? kkthx
Edit: The error said something about not beeing able to return player property btw, but the patch seems to have fixed the problem since it works now.
Woah good idea. Boss fights were allways my favorite in wc3, but Im still learning data editor in sc2 -.-
Too bad its wednesdaymorning now so I cant run the editor... fail.
Tho, I hope I can find 2 more people to test my map since I was allready busy on a 4 v AI hero RPG. Prolly gonna create an AI for computer heroes aswell...
k well title is abit strange but Im not sure how to explain. In the map 'Zone Wars' theres zones displayed on the map itself. I wonder how to do this, and if it is possible to make the shapes appear / dissapear and reappear with triggers. Allso, if this would be possible, would it lag?
hmm, nvm. problem solved. Thx for the help but in the end I was jst a little confused because I couldnt select <Any Unit> as a function in a Position of Unit trigger
Well, Any unit in unit group. How do I use this, as in:
Unit enters point (Triggering Event)
entering unit = unit of type baneling
point = position of unit
unit = any unit in unit group units in (region) owned by (player)
How do I do this? Since all I can find is a specific unit in a unit group or a random unit in a unit group.
Read the title. How do I vieuw fog/weather effects such as 'light rays' in the editor? I have 'fog effects' turned on but it only shows a circle with a cloud in it
Easiest way would be to replace some doodad or prop with a 'disguised' pylon (diff model), make in invunerable and set radius to 200. then, remove the behaviour - pylon power field - actor - power field radius model, so that u won't see it when placing a unit

I wanna find a random unit it comes near to in an event, not the triggering unit in a condition.

I might try terrain or cinematics, if you will inform me about how u are going to manage making a map that size, since DaoW is, I believe, 512x512
Allso, what's the theme? Medieval, Modern Warfare or SF? Will there be hero units?

I thought the same thing about the CUnit option, but u need to tick the box in on the left side of your Data Editor to get it. (Vieuw Raw Data)
Oh and allso, tutorial didnt work for me.
