Yeaaaah im not very good with triggers, its something i need to learn - was hoping for some help to get something basic put together from which i can tinker and learn from. if you set a text tag at the damage dealing unit, wont that have the combat text appear at the caster instead of above the unit you just damaged? i would like the combat text to appear at the target of the damage or healing not the source :)
All damage and healing being done by my (player) units only, like the Heroes of the Storm / D3 combat text for example - different colours for each. Dodge's/absorbs might be cool too if thats also possible?
I was told that the pause/unpause trigger commands are what I would need to create a kind of 'tactical pause' system with ability/movement queuing - much like the one in Dragon Age : Origins. Im new here and to the editor so any advice/direction pointing or even assistance would be great - its quite a curve to tackle alone ^^
I'm fairly new to the editor - I've found my way around unit attributes and animations etc. I've watched countless guides but there is nothing out there I have found that demonstrates this kind of system in the galaxy editor or even writes about it.
So this can all be done using triggers? that would be good as I think I'm going to get my head around the trigger system long before I am ever a competent coder...
I take it ability and movement queuing during the pause could be done using triggers also? *crosses fingers*
Could you point me in a good direction? maybe someone who has experience with that?
Its a system where during combat you can pause Gametime but still queue individual unit commands and movements/positioning - to be executed in that order when you 'unpause' Gametime. Hope that makes sense? ^^
In dragon age, you would hit the space bar to start/stop gametime. Its key for what I want to do.
Im newly active in the community but have been playing around with a new mod concept. I'm looking for ways in which to make a kind of 'tactical pause' system - something like Dragon Age : Origins has if any of you are familiar with that?
Is it even possible in the Galaxy Editor? Where/who should I poke?
