Always happened to me, but from now on when you startup the map and add campaign dependencies make sure they are in the top. For some reason that have fixed it for me.
You can also go to file -> dependencies -> move your campaign dependencies to the top with the button arrows, that SOMETIMES fixes it. (only had once when it didnt though)
Sure thing, this looks brilliant.
Still playing wow since day one, so know my way around the isntances and for a look at some of my previous terraining works (though not wow'ish style) check out Template Maps
I guess this would be the place to put it, I am working on a project right now (singleplayer) where a player can join the map and choose between different short stories (cinematics) that they want to see. I do not have any problems creating the map, but I do have problems comming up with something funny for people to look at. It is a pure just-for-fun map.
I cannot think of any funny stories. - You want to check out "novelcraft" on battlenet (eu). I got 3 short stories so far, that I consider a bit funny,. If you play / see the map I think you will understand. I only got 3 short stories atm and there is room for 30ish on the map and this is where I need your help!
Sticking to a starcraft theme would be preferable but I guess anything would do. I am especially having trouble finding anything funny with zergs / protos storylines :(
So.. do you got any funny starcraft stories you think would be funny to have "acted" out, then please let me know :D give me a rough idea or an entire script I don't mind, if it is funny ill deff include it in the map which will eventually have voice actors custom pictures etc if space allows.
If you are new to the editor, it sure is a cool map. I can't point out many "mistakes" so to say. then those who have already been posted. what is a deff a big need is for you to short the tiles off where the tiles "end". so it accually looks like a brick and not a paintbrush.
another thing is the mountains/hills. they are quite... plain. I bet you could spice it up with some rocks so one gets the feel of an unpassable area ( assuming that they are ment to be that.
and yet another thing. When creating a vespene facilty in general I do not think it would be bad to throw in some green lights around some of the factories to give them a super toxic effect ^^
But very nicely done, compared to the tileset you are using! (terrain textures does soooooo much)
I had accually been trying a space movie for some time ago, and I do agree it could be some cool battles you would be able to make. The only thing that sucks about it, is that the camera bound will always appear as a black line everytime you look into the horizon. I tried hiding terrain cells and expanding bounds etc, but nothing worked :( so if one were to make a dogfight it would constantly show what appear to be 50% of the screen showing a graphic error :P
HOWEVER, I am still a newbie with the editor, if you accually have a fix to this problem, please do not hesitate to share xD
I was working on my first (first ever) movie but realised when done that it was way to long, so I put in some goofy text and music so you can have some inspiration :P Anyways back to the drawing board to make a REAL epic fight under two minuts :D

Pretty crappy assignment tbh, terrain topic but cant alter the terrain so had some fun with it and found an easymode way to make custom bridges
- 1 find bridge you want to use (must be unit bridges)
- 2 data editor -> lookup you bridge.
- 3 uncheck uncloackable
- 4 check cloacked
- 5 go under triggers and make a unit height action fx: Unit - lolbridge [32.51, 42.06] height to 2.2 over 0.0 second
- 6 insert random doodads
success!

I bet that you are using the campaign dependencies, I ALSO bet that what you are experiencing are just the dependencies bugging.
Go:
File - - > Dependencies - - >
Move the campaign dependencies to the top of the list using the arrow buttons
problem fixed.

that accually reminds me of a question long since forgotten, is it possible to rotate the copied terrain?

really need, I am used to fill up terrain pieces with water, but with the shark and blue lightrays it really makes a great effect

Sure thing, mapping is pretty much all I do, don't really have any great ideas for games, so just mapping all the time ^^
