posted a message on Possible bug with region naming

I have never run into this problem before but my current map won't save some region names. They are regions that I copy pasted. I have done this in the past and not had an issue but now it won't save the names when I change them. It will show up when I am in the editor with the new name and reference the new name on triggers, but if I shut down the editor the next time I start up the names are back to copy.

posted a message on Data request-Angry birds type missle

I am making a map based on Angry Birds.  I have been able to figure out how to launch a baneling that explodes on impact but that is the extent of my data knowledge.  I am requesting help with the attack that would represent the little blue birds.

I want the player to select one point (dont need to target unit) and the ability fires.
A cocoon (egg model) is launched in the air.
I need it to appear as if gaining and loosing height like the Infested Terran ability.
In the air the cocoon splits into three winged zerglings.  The cocoon is destroyed.
One Zergling would fly straight and die on impact with the ground.
The other two Zerglings would fly at an angle and die on impact.
When the Zerglings land and die on impact with the ground they would do a very small area aoe damage.

So basically cocoon launches and in air splits into 3 zerglings.  Whoever helps me with this will be credited on the loading screen and will be my bff.

posted a message on Angry Banelings

LOL sorry about that one.  I do think the replay value for an individual map would be low.  I'm guessing it would have a shelf life of a couple successful play throughs before people found all the hidden stuff.  If it became popular I would release expansions which was kinda what I was trying to get at here.  You answered my question though.  Include the base system and if people like it release a followup map with new units, terrain, and UI.

posted a message on Angry Banelings

Hello everyone.  This is not my first post.  I somehow left my username blank and it was just a number so I finally created a new account.  Anyways, I am currently working on a project that shouldn't take too much longer before uploaded.  I was wanting some suggestions you had.  I'm mainly curious how in depth I should get with this map.

Right now here is what I got.  Think Angry Birds only concentrating on the part where you look for weaknesses in the structure.  In each level of my map you are at the bottom on a cliff with a Baneling Cannon (Virophrage or whatever model).  There are Banelings lined up to the side of the cannon.  It supports 1-5 players and divides Banelings up based on the amount of players in the game.  The game takes turns and gives control to the active user while displaying in a dialog to everyone else who currently has control.  You get one shot per turn at the terrans.  The Baneling Cannon will fire the baneling at the target and explode on impact.  This is the Infestor-Infested Terran ability.

The whole thing looks great and is pretty funny to see a flying Baneling splat when it hits the ground.  You have to talk as a group to pick the best order to attack.  Terrans will be behind wood planks, rocks, or inside bunkers and more based on how far in the game you are.  You have to break the defenses to kill all the Terrans in a level.  It will have stuff like exploding barrels, chemical barrels, and zerg cages.  You also get points for everything you destroy or kill and can buy more banelings with those points.  It will also have secret levels.  After tomorrow the meat and potatoes will be done and I'll just be working on the levels.

I was thinking about doing 10-15 levels and previewing at the end the next map in the series which would have an additional unit.  This would be a zergling cocoon that opens up to 3 zerglings (like the lil blue bird).  I was wondering if I should take longer and include new units now?  If so I'd probably remake the UI and everything.  How in depth would you go before you saw if people enjoyed it or not?
