Hey, co-developer of Star Party here. I know the feeling that you have, Dogmai, about not having as much time as you'd like to devote to developing maps. Themusic and I had to cut a lot of features we had planned for the contest release and were spending almost all of our free time trying to perfect the features we could fit in before the deadline. With a full time job and a strained relationship during the contest, personally, it was pretty dang stressful.
Yes, Traysent mentioned that there is the possibility of more contests. He also asked themusic and I for our thoughts on the contest. I would say more, but I'm sure that Blizzard will announce something.
I just wanted to note that I reread the official contest rules and, to the best of my knowledge and reading ability, there is no specific clause in the contest rules that prevents you from updating your map on Battle.net. There is only a paragraph stating the deadline to making a submission to the contest via their submission form. This "don't update your map rule" comes from related blog postings, which a contest entrant could easily miss, and I feel it would be ludicrous if Blizzard disqualified entrants based on a rule that wasn't stated in the official contest rules.
That being said, we inquired with Blizzard on the possibility of making a few crucial changes to major bugs for our map, and they told us that they would be "firm" on their decision to not allow updating. So, we have not made and will not be making any updates past the deadline, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.
I know this topic isn't very appropriate for this forum, but bear with me.
My name is Chirus and I am the creator of The Star Strikers custom map.
During the development of my map, in earlier years of SC2, I gave it to various publishers to upload it on other servers, since I could not do this alone. Now that cross-server publishing is possible, I want to upload the map under my account alone and remove all of the outdated versions published by other users.
However, I'm not able to get in contact with some of the former publishers. In some cases, the map was even published without my permission.
Therefore, I'd like to know if anyone has an idea of who to talk to so that I can get all of the outdated versions removed. Any information on this subject is appreciated, especially from those who have attempted this before.
It's probably something to do with your graphics card, a certain level has a doodad you haven't encountered before or something.
Though there are a crazy amount of disconnects on startup, perhaps certain computers have a problem with certain triggers or custom content?
The frequent disconnects is more likely due to battle.net. I've been disconnected at the start randomly, various times, even after I've loaded all of the levels/units/etc. I've also seen others reporting lately a lot of disconnects at startup in other custom games.
I've had an awesome experience working with Vaelek and the rest of his team. They've helped me a lot with balancing my map for a large group of players and provided feedback that really helped me make my map shine.
If you're looking for great feedback and friendly people this is definitely the way to go.
Chirus ID#875 here. Feel free to contact me to test a game any day of the week if I'm on. I try to provide very specific comments about the games I am playtesting.

I'm going to report all of the popular tug of war maps. Their minimap/preview images look like parallel phalluses, which is totally offensive to me.

I sent you a PM about this offer. I think that it's great that you're doing this for people.
