I'd rather blizzard just updated their editor anyway, if the game can't run the map, especially in battle.net, then a third party editor would be worthless anyway.

But yeah I'll see if I can try something like this for the idea I have. There's always alternate solutions.

Yeah, I get the idea, only problem I see is cliff tool would have to be unused, as the cliff's would look enormous.

I'll do some experimenting and see what I can come up with for it.

A couple screenshots of a video would do just fine, I just want to see how it looks in theory.

But yeah you should be able to make your own footprints, even smaller than 1x1.

I'd like to see what you did with that, let me know if you'll ever let me look at that map of yours.

As for scaling the footprints, you don't do anything involving scale like you would with actors or models, there's a pathing map tool that the data editor has. You simply draw the footprint you need depending on how small it needs to be.

Though I'm not sure if I was successful for this either, I just found a 1x1 pathing map that was used for doodad's I guess and used it as the pathing map for the buildings.

Anybody manage to try out the map at all? I know the map is practically unfinished but some feedback on the current design it's aiming towards would greatly help the development.

Anyone that gets around to give this map a shot let me know, any feedback is good, I don't care how harsh it is, I want to try and make this map in a way where no one can find a reason to dislike it.

Edit: Anybody have some suggestions on how I can get some testers for feedback?

A new uber has arrived, but don't be confused it is not the tank. No my friends, the uber if far more frightening than the tank, the Uber that has arrived is a Thunderbolt.

The Uberbolt that fires from the contained husk of the Zues tank, will zap a target, feed off of it's essence and recreate itself, and then splits off and hits another two targets, where it repeats it's terrifying process.

Irony that such a species dies from an essence with a hunger similar to it's own. I only wish that the scientists who created this monstrous weapon don't end up destroying themselves in it's development!

Added a Tower of Tanks to the list, Not really uber, at least not yet. Though I figure it was ridiculous enough. If I had more time I would have made them do some insane stuff.

I had the idea in my head, "I am going to make some kind of death star laser, I don't care if I get sued by Lucas, I SHALL DEATH STAR LAZOR!!!!"

I'm actually a bit disappointed that my monstrosity of a computer slowed down during the recording, gave it a serious beating afterwards. Though it's mostly because my system hasn't been overclocked in the least and I had the editor up at the same time.

At any rate I'm also upset that no matter how much checking I did the yamato blast didn't fire from the correct spot, I wanted to fix it before I released the video but I figured it was hardly noticeable and I wanted to get this video out within a couple hours. It's a simple little thing and I just wanted to do something that looked neat and gave people high hopes on whats capable with the editor.

You all know about the Uberlisk that was shown the Demonstration of the Starcraft 2 Editor, well after seeing that I decided the moment I got my hands on the editor I would make an Uber unit of my own. And in my case, I chose to do the battle cruiser

This is a youtube video of the first Uber Cruiser I made back when the editor was released for Beta.

This is the Uber Cruiser I made yesterday after better understanding the workings of the editor.

It was alot more fun than I had expected, so I decided that this degree of ridiculousness needs to be shared. I'm sure theres a great deal of you out there that during one time working with the editor you've put together an insanely ridiculously super powered unit just for the sake of messing around and having fun. Well come on down and share your creations here, I'll list your content on the opening post so everyone can witness what happens when a Starcraft 2 Map Editor has far too much time on their hands XD

If you don't know how to make one or simply don't have time to make one on your own then describe your uber creation here, I'll see if I can make it and credit you for the idea.

So let the ridiculousness commence, whether it's thors riding on motherships or marauders firing nuclear exploding zerglings, bring the insanity here so everyone can enjoy a good chuckle and also roll their eyes at the amount of spare we must have to come up with these things.

Also props to anyone who can make videos of these uber's before I get to them:

Carrier that launchers carriers that launch void rays, that launch phoenix's that launcher intercepters which drop thors that fire banelings that explode like nukes X.X

Goliath with several floating gun turrets that fire bullets, lasers, and missiles.

A thor with a Death Star Laser that fires from it's Back Cannons.

An infestor...... that infests EVERYTHING!!!!!! MUAHAHAHA

posted a message on [Data] Customized Movers (Advanced Difficulty)

Hey I setup an ability that essentially uses a dropship as a missile, and I'm trying to make it take off at an angle, fly in a straight line towards it's destination, then land at a similar angle that it took off.

I realize it's possible to adjust it's trajectory prior to being guided towards the target, but is it possible to setup the mover to have a controlled angle of departure that continues until it reaches it's destination?

Also, it's building that's launching the dropship so when it takes off it only goes in 1 direction because the building can't turn, so in a sense I have to make the dropship fly up first, then it flies directly into it's target, I want to make it so it flies directly up, then in a level straight line towards its target, but then when it reaches it's target, I want to try and make it angle back down the same way it took off.

    Is something like that possible?

If not, I can just turn it into a unit and guide it through triggers, but if I can get it to work 100% as a missile that would save me ton's of time. In a sense it works how it is, it just looks wierd because it flies in a descending matter since it's technically still a missile.

Thing's are coming along pretty well, with the support of several people on this forum I have managed to circumvent every speedbump that I came across while working on the map.

Has anyone tried out the map yet on the roster? I've understand the publishing system is pretty poor but I'm curious if anyone has come across it yet.

If you have, let me know what you think so far.
