    I agree with your point about this advice being for people who aren't up to par. Both inventing a genre and advancing a current one are tasks not suitable for most people. It's better if they don't waste their time trying.

    You seem to overestimate the importance of design theory. Strong intuition and intelligence will get you quite far. In fact, theory can actually hinder you if you rely on it too much.

    I do have to disagree with your take on polish. Polish is part of the overall experience of the game. It should never be neglected. Waiting for your new genre map to become popular before polishing it is counterproductive. A polished version would have a much higher chance of getting popular.

    Somehow this started happening and I can't trace it to any particular setting change or event. In short, the game lags and stutters horribly when set to fullscreen mode. When set to windowed or windowed (fullscreen) then it plays just fine. From what I read windowed is more resource intensive so this makes no sense. It has nothing to do with my graphics card being up to par or settings being too high. This is normally not a problem because windowed (fullscreen) is actually better than fullscreen (in my opinion), but the editor doesn't have a launch with windowed (fullscreen) option!

    Element Tower Defense is the conversion of a popular WC3 map to SC2. We are a dedicated team consisting of game designers, coder, terrainer, data editors, beta team, and web designer.

    Currently we are looking for another data editor. You would be responsible for manipulating data to create the abilities (with coder offering script where needed) for the towers and creeps. You would also be expected to become involved with the community. We have forums and an IRC channel.

    There are a few requirements. You must be adept with the data editor. This is not a TD that features your simple slow, stun, and poison towers. We have many interesting things. You must also be able to dedicate your time to this project. It would be ideal if it was your primary one. There is a lot of different content in this game. You would ideally use IRC, but this is not required.
