    I'm not sure if I follow you, but you could just have a spell on a building that autocasts, and transforms the plant into the next stage.

    In its final stage, just give it a behavior that drains life.

    I don't know why I'm entering because I can't compete with Hellzone Grenade, Shock Rifle, and Power Matrix, but here are two of my best spells, Chain and Purgatory.

    There are a few more in there for fun but they won't turn any heads.

    Make the effect be a set. In the set have two effects. One heals, and has the validator "is ally". The other damages and has the validator "is enemy". Both will try to run because of the set, but only one will be able to because of the validators.

    I'm making an RPG and I could definately use some help. I'm not that great at terraining, thus I've only really done much with creating new abilities for heroes. I was about to bite the bucket and start some work for it on my own when I saw this. :D

    I'm willing to show you my map and let you decide if its far enough along for you to want to work with me on it. Its really just some heroes with custom spells right now assaulting mobs with just a hint of AI, but maybe seeing it in action would let you judge better. Let me know.

    You can alter the casting unit a little bit... if you remove collision Ground Unused 9 (I think) your unit can pass through Force Field just fine. Any units that do still have Ground Unused 9 will be pushed away.

    Then just have a trigger that moves the Force Field onto your unit in case it moves.

    Edit: Oh, you're using Shield, not Field. I mix those up a bit. Well, you can create a copy of Force Field and make it invisible, and still run the shield visual effects.

    Don't really have anything fancy to show off for it yet. I don't think a picture of a Marauder hitting a unit with a Siege Tank effect really does it justice. Right now I've just focused almost entirely on creating abilities for heroes, and its going slower than I hoped so I could any extra help.

    I'm not using any fancy features yet, like custom UI or anything. I want it to feel like a cross between traditional SC1 and WC3 RPGs, nothing too experimental like WASD movement or strange camera angles. Things like that might come much farther in the development cycle if it seems they'll fit well.

    One of my focuses will eventually be intelligently acting mobs. Rather than just patrolling around the map and using a single attack until they die, I want groups of them to fight with a strategy and have abilities that synergize. For example, I have an ability based off of charge that only activates when a unit has already been attacked. So the mobs with it won't run into a battle, but if they happen to fight a hero and start winning so that he has to run away, they'll chase him down even if he has a normally higher movespeed. Later, I expect to have a "fire wall" ability on one of the creeps, and a "pushback" effect on another, so they'll try to continually knock you into it for damage.

    All I have entirely done so far is a mob spawning system, and 2 heroes with abilities. I have about 15 other abilities on uncompleted heroes as well. I've got a bit of placeholder terrain, but nothing fancy. Still have almost everything ahead of me, quests, items, etc.

    So if you want to jump in, I'm not really so far into it that anybody would be confused by my map yet.

    posted a message on I lose everything in my map when changing dependencies. What can I do?

    I'd been using a SC2Mod for a while to help with my map, but now that I want to publish my map it won't work because it needs the mod as well.

    I've removed every instance of its use from my map, but when I go to dependencies and delete it, every single value I've modified (i.e. shows up green) gets deleted along with it, leaving me with nothing but terrain and unaltered units.

    Is there anything I can do? I've tried removing it every way I can think of. The oddest was when I moved the mod so the map couldn't find it. It gave me an message that the mod couldn't be found, but everything else was still there. I then removed the dependency for something that wasn't even there anymore, and it still destroyed all of my work.

    Right now the only thing I can think of is exporting the components and trying to find a way to import them into a new map, but I can't figure that out either.

    I really, really need help or I'm going to lose everything I've worked on.

    You're using the zergling model twice, right? Which morph ability are you using? Did you duplicate one, or create your own.

    Try changing the fz's model to a zealot or something, and see if the ability still works/doesn't. I had lots of trouble with morphing myself.

    posted a message on bored and is willing to make ground work for maps

    I'm working on a map but have been focused entirely on data and triggers, so I only have 30 seconds work worth of terrain in my map. I could certainly use some help in that area.

    Given my work ethic it probably won't be finished anytime soon (read: ever), so beware.
