Fulla, that idea sounds like Mafia, but with more detective work. Also sounds vulnerable to trolling.

"Try to guess if they are lying, telling the truth, doubtful, etc.." I was under the impression that LA Noire was not about guessing, but was about using one's powers of observation to read the non-verbal expressions in the NPCs' bodies and faces. An attempt at emulation that lacks this misses the only feature of the game one could consider innovative or novel.

Quantified reputation is silly; active participants in the community know the reputations of one another well enough without such things.

Also, this is the wrong forum for model requests.

posted a message on Might be a stupid question but...

Photoshop with the Nvidia DDS Plugin; the plugin is only compatible with the 32 bit version, though, so if you have both 32 and 64 bit versions installed, you'll need to switch to the 32 bit version to save and open dds files. Alternatively, you can use other paint programs and and GIMP to generate dds.

I enjoy this map and look forward to playing it again. I don't like the grind-aspect of unlocks and such, but I certainly enjoy the gameplay.

The update will be released "soon". There will be other new features besides the in game option selection menu. like hopefully music will be included in this update, provided the uploads don't time out.

It would be cool if it was on page 1, but I doubt that would ever happen. For all the skill and tactical nuance involved, I think it's entirely too niche to get much higher than it is, mostly for lack of all the silly junk people associate with "replayability", like persistent score tracking, achievements, and unlocks. It's also perfectly balance, entirely skill driven gameplay, which turns off people who play maps for the experience of leveraging minor imbalances to greater total effect. Haha, I'm surprised it's on page 2 at all.

Thanks for the support, glad you enjoy the map. Sometime, I'd like to know who the best EU players are. =D

"Nihil novi sub sole"; there is nothing new under the sun. Everything is derivative. Originality is not the ability to pull ideas fully formed from the void, born as Athena was from Zeus; our minds do not exist in a vacuum. Originality is the ability to rearrange the shit you've experienced into new shit.

Photon Cycles is derivative of TronCraft Rebirth, which I guess was derivative of some older movie or game, I can't say I'm familiar with either. This is not some shameful point of contention; it is not an issue for me. My map is on page 2 because people enjoy playing it, I made it because I wanted to make something I would enjoy playing. I duncare about popularity, my map just happened to become popular on the basis of simple, compelling gameplay.

Also, with you laying down commandments and the like, someone might mistake you for the Moses of Mapping. Historical fact: Moses never completed any maps for Starcraft 2 either.

I concur with the topic in its entirety. I've used the last hour trying to position that manifesto on a t shirt, but it became illegible around the scale required to fit it all. The tangents in this discussion demonstrate precisely the problem with the "blame blizzard" fraction of the community.

In Starcraft, the mappers complained "Everyone plays Big Game Hunter!" In Warcraft 3, the mappers complained "Everyone plays DotA!" In Starcraft 2, the mappers complain "My map isn't popular!" Yet Starcraft 2 provides more map exposure per list space than any of the previous systems. Invariable, the disenfranchised always decry whatever system within which they do not succeed.
