    sounds like you are talking the already existing map night. its a good place to get feedback and have some fun. they do it in eu or fri, and us sat morning/afternoonish

    honestly, i dont think you'll get a group here as more of connections possibly to find other people looking to reach out during the next 1-2 weeks this thread is active. you could start a clan for it, but then again, my friends list is always looked at over my clan list.

    i think i am mor experienced than you in mapping (just a guess, who knows), but i've found myself rather bored lately and would enjoy looking over anyones map and helping with anything that you may be stuck at, or just help with optional input. the best way to find me is ezbeats in sc2, or on skype as ezbeats.sc2

    even though it shows me online, i levae it on a lot, i work mon-fri 8-5 and personal life as well, so i'm not on 24/7, but feel free to hit me up and if im around ill be glad to join up.

    One of my abilities for the life of me will not display the amount of the cost (i.e. energy, minerals, custom resource, etc..). I've feel like ive exhausted all my possible fixes. All of my other abilities display just fine, I'm a pretty avid mapper, so something so simple is so frustrating for this one ability to not work. I could always re-do the ability from scratch though I'd rather not. So, what I'm asking is if anyone has come across a strange situation where a button will not display the icon/ cost amounts? Like, are there any strange rules or exceptions that some1 may have come across that would cause this? Hopefully some1 may have an idea. I know all the ability ID links are correct, spelling, everything with hte appropriate IDs as well for cooldowns etc.... Thanks!

    there should be atrigger to set vision to x region as playable map area, which will block out screen scrolling / minimap view of the area. i think this is what youre looking for.

    tracking personal threads seems like an interesting function, though its already there in some format i believe. the latter you stated have been in the site and are part of the issue, where once they were active and no longer, it gives the appearance of a dead community (though the community is not) the problem the original poster brought up was that some of those activities have died and now they are so outdated it makes the site look unkept etc....

    example; themed ability contests have occured but they are only actively viable as long as participation is occuring. and some of the functionality of the main site has geared towards that, but its been so dead / outdated and left alone it appears like a 2 year old site thats no longer active. at least thats my take.

    @abvdzh if youre looking for themed abilities or boss AI i think youre just basically following the individual forums (data / AI) which are active or not from time to time for contests etc... I think the main poster i alluding that the main page should stay updated on whats being actively followed within. and some of the main stuff on the main page (not the main news spotlights) has been dead for so long it should be removed / updated to reflect so.

    i second this. I joined this way back in sc2 beta and come and go with the business of life. But I do check this site regularly even in my down time and it has seemed a bit stagnant lately. The key points you layed out I agree with. I am in no way volunteering that I can help, and the people in charge have molded this community into what it is (the best galaxy editor resource on the web, way better than hiveworkshop, bnet, etc... IMO) but, maybe a new injection of someone to help would carry it through while the original moderators / developers are busy with their lives. No doubt the people in charge here are busy with family, xmas, jobs, school etc..... I like all points youve made and would enjoy an update or someone with some more time to stay actively involved. Again, this is the best site out there for us, and i know the IRC is always active with 4 people rambling while 30+ are logged in so there is always an active place to go, but the fore front of this site has been lagging lately I've thought.

    I agree with your points, but points 2 and 3 could be modified or just updated, not neccessarily cut out. There are still very active parts of this site, heck the WTE is active week to week, i think it deserves a place on the front page being it's always active. Anyways, hope this post helps and projects mine and no doubt others enthusiasm in this site. I think when HotS hits the community, it will really grow in that players will see that this editor has so much potential (with or without a marketplace, but thats a whole other discussion) for awesome growth. People that may have seen the editor as a tinkering arena has the obvious real potential. Lets keep this place going! :)

    Unclesatana, I dislike your name, but like your music preference, that's about what I listen to, all the time. If data stuff gets involved I usually tune out the music till I figure it out, and it's usually figured out by testing so there's plenty of downtime to listen to the music going IMO.

    youre right, add a buff behavior on the unit that searches every .0625 to dmg units around it, making sure to have it target;marker the units so it wont hit them twice. thats pretty much the jist of what youre looking for i believe.

    i like it, as usual you are one of top artists on here, espcially in regards to lighting POV / terrain on here. anyways, i like it, though with the theme as infested protoss, maybe an infested protoss or protoss like including as well? maybe a protoss structure on the side elluding to protoss involvement?

    also, i like the default loading screen where you see everyone elses loading bar. but with that mode, you are unable to show text like tips etc.... you are probably right that some quick text at the loading would most likely make the first round for noobs easier. anyways, ill get back to you this thread later tongiht or tommorow!

    and no worries Mugen, i do appreciate the suggestions of using google. can always learn from others tips / methods / sources.

    Hi, my map is in alpha stage. Ive only began testing it a few times now and things are looking good. its pretty darn polished and probably further along than most released maps, but im pretty picky, so i still feel like theres always more to add / fine tune.

    anyways, looking for a loading screen particularly, but also other images should you choose to help do any more. and if you want to help with balance etc of stuff thats welcome. more input is always a good thing.

    the map is essentially a hero arena on a volcanic island. you are a morphling that can morph between various base classes. you can select the unique perks for each ability per class, so the possibilities are daunting really for the game setup per player. the units are all unique. the base units are modified zerg units. the npcs are infested protoss.

    base classes; roach class hydra class queen class ultralisk class infetested terran class;

    npcs; infested zealot infested berserker ionfested templar infester high templar infested probe ionfested observer infested slasher infested immortal infested archon infested colossi etc.... (more dont come to mind)

    im quite picky about what gets involved. if anyone follows the terraining forum, you must know of Joecab. he was awesome enough to help and did some terrain and ideas etc....

    what i really am hoping to get; small pic for loading screne (using melee so you can see every player status) small pic for arcade icon

    bonuses to 'hope' for; possible select icon changes... possible wireframe update models (would be sick)

    also, if something doesnt look pretty darn perfect or ability work perfect in all situations including animations / sounds etc... it needs to be changed. i enjoy working the detail. ANY input on balance / further ideas is ALWAYS welcomed.
