posted a message on Patch 16 Patch Notes

Ugh, an older map that I was working on - and was really promising to boot - is pretty messed up. A lot of the icons I was using for my UI are missing in game now, the dialog boxes are somehow larger and overlapping on things and the boss HP bar has a weird color background now. More work for me I guess.

If I remember correctly you can change the sound channel type in the data editor.

Brilliant. I went in the data editor and changed the type from "Voice" to "Music" and voila! It works. Thanks for the help.

posted a message on Cinematic Soundtracks - Driving me crazy!

For the life of me, I cannot get a custom soundtrack to play while a cinematic is running. I have no problem running the sound in game. However, as soon as a cinematic is started (via turn cinematic mode on) the soundtrack instantly stops. Upon exiting the cinematic, the soundtrack continues.

I did refer to this thread http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/map-development/1822-playing-sounds-with-cinematic-mode/#p6 in which a problem like mine was addressed, but was still unable to get it working. Another strange question is the fact that some other maps I've downloaded and played have music running during their cinematics without this goofy "set channel volume" workaround. Any help or suggestion?

posted a message on Zerg Rally 2666

Hey, my first game here. It's a fun, silly little game where you drive a car around and try to smash as many zerg as possible. While it doesn't contain as many cool tricks as some of the maps around here, I think it's a pretty solid fun game. Check out the project page and let me know what you think!

posted a message on Removing Actor Attached to Unit

I've done a search through the forums and found there is no definite answer to this question. It seems once you attach an actor to a unit, you cannot remove it by any means.

For example, I have a map where a force field actor is attached to a marine. So far, I have found it impossible to remove the force field actor attached to that marine. It seems that other people have had similar problems. Any ideas on how to solve this?
