I just have to ask. Did you start out making the map in the beta editor, and then switched to the current editor? There are lots of shit that happen to your map if you switch like that, and i dunno how to fix it atm. I had the same problem, and after a while i just gave up and started anew on the new editor, at least you can copy all of the triggs and much from the data editor.
yeah beta phase 1
I don't have any triggers. The only thing in the data editor i changed is the player colors.
Is it possible to copy and paste the entire terrain into a new map? I tried once but it didn't seem to follow through.
It turns out that, yea, for some reason its extremely far down, as compared to how it was in beta phase 1. There has to be a way to either pull it up or increase its visual area.
My map size is 256x256 and it looks like on a flat area, space just barely covers a nudge over the 256x256.
I found one of the few images i have of the map in beta phase 1 from within the game view. I probably have others but would have to look through disconnected hard drives.
I don't really understand what exactly it is you are asking. I think it is not very considerate to have us have to download and run your map to even understand your basic question.
Try a bit better to explain the issue (perhaps you can use screenshots or videos?).
Remember, you have to help us help you by presenting your issue in a way where we can understand it quickly and work on a solution for you.
I was tired last night and decided i wanted to watch a 4v4 made up entirely of computers. So what i did is set myself up as referee and popped in 8 ai's.
Then i look at the observer slots. In beta, if there were 8 slots in the game, there would be 8 available for observing. THERE ARE ONLY 7 NOW!. yes, including the slot i filled in. So the game apparently is actually 15 players???
Who ever heard of a odd numbered multiplayer game? What if sc1 was 7 players? And wc3 was 11 players? How ridiculous would that have sounded? Boy, i sure hope this is just a bug.
I'm sorry to say that, but you horribly failed, if you click the link, click "continue to starcraft 2 community site" at the top and it links you to the right site, that one of the link
hmmm...maybe you should learn to read.
I said it directs me to my STORE account. I know the page you're talking about, it pops up every time i try and visit the blizz forums and its not the same page.
That link litterally redirects me to this one: https://us.battle.net/account/management/index.xml I don't know why and if i'm the only one experiencing it, but that's how it is.
At any rate, i repeat: i found the model myself in the previewer.
it sucks that the terratron is an unusable unit in the editor. You can't click it, you can't move it...what the crap?
Blizzard said it would be in the map editor, but they didn't mention in what form (character/unit/doodad). I'm really disappointed with this, as they knew damn well they expected us to find a working usable terratron unit and they didn't deliver.
The story mode models are of limited use as they have no animations, however.
"one thing i'm really happy that we developed is the recording system. The video recording system in game. I'm excited to see what the machinima community is going to do with [it]. These are the tools that we used for all our in game videos that you see in the news casts and the tech purchase panels. What it allows designers to do is via triggers they set up the cutscene however they want and then they can set movie recording triggers when it runs the cutscene, it automatically records video snippits for you, throws them all in a directory and you got a movie."

whats the hint?? i see raynor, raynor in a marine getup, and nova the ghost from the busting out missions wth tosh, and an arm of an infested kerrigan or infested lab woman. unless your hint is that orange/yellow arm on the right i dont get the hint....
actually i was referring to the infested lab woman...i chose to save her so i didn't see that side of the story. My bad!
What orange yellow arm on the right???
So i just learned that whichever mission you chose at the decision missions is going to result in you making a "correct judgment". Meaning, if you choose to help the protoss or help the lab lady, the following cutscene will prove that your decision was the right one. I don't like that. They should have made it so that if you choose one side you come off as more reasonable, and on the other a little more obsessed (with killing mengsk and with dealing with the zerg threat).

i feel like i'm the only one making some noise about this in the blizz forums.
Am i the only one that still cares about the 16 player thing?

yeah, that didn't work, i tried that.
Thanks for responding, though.

This is the same exact point of view as this (current screenshot): http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5745/screenshot2010080319370.jpg
Notice the background.
I'd love to have it back the way i had it in beta :(

re-edited. Let me know if its better.

Something happened between beta phase 1 and now that really screwed up some things on my map..
I'm having an issue right now where the space background is too far down. This problem was not there when i made and published my map.
Here is what it looks like now (screenshots):

here is the map itself, if it helps understand the problem.

I'm not sure if this issue arose during phase 2 or with the release, but it wasn't like that when i made the map.
Is there a way to increase the background visible distance, or the depth at which it lies?
Thank you to whomever comes up with the solution.

the a.r.e.s. from the secret mission.

you do see her in a cutscene, actually. It's the one where tychus is looking at a video of her and horner catches him.
The kerrigan cutscene unit is in the editor under portraits, her entire body. I have seen it in the previewer.

for some reason, that link keeps directing me to my bnet store account.
nvm, i found it myself in the editor. I can't get her to move though...i really don't understand how this previewer works.

because you never see her in an in game cutscene. So they probably didn't make a model of her.
There is however, the regular kerrigan unit.

That's interesting! Why so many neutrals?
So if even wc3 had as many as 4 neutral beyond the original 12 spots, why can't sc2 have that 17th slot?
