Thanks for the tutorial!
I have to agree with zzPop that the Lift and Drop effects are kind of useless, though. Easier done through the Behavior - Modification than through a periodic effect.
@Dustin374
Try setting the 'Target: Location - Effect' to the effect that is triggered by the search area or whatever you use for selecting a target, and set 'Value' to 'Source unit/point'. The way it works I think is that if you have something that triggers the effect on the unit itself (i.e. a behavior that triggers the Push effect instead of an effect triggered by the Search Area effect) it won't get a valid direction, because it'll be asked to push towards itself, so it'll push south.
Your project sounds interesting.
I'm afraid I won't be able to guarantee my time, but you can always ask me if you need some testing. I usually give huge amounts of critique, which seems to be what you're looking for :)

@Nerfpl:
When I talk about the events, I'm talking about just the events when I press the Enter button. No conditions.
Aka, if I press the enter button, the trigger doesn't run its actions.
What I want is an event that makes the trigger run its actions if I press the Enter button while the edit box is highlighted. Doesn't matter if that event makes the trigger run on other buttons too, I'll be able to filter those out, but I can't find anything that makes it run when the Enter button is pressed.
So, in example, if I have:
Event - Enter button is pressed
Action - Text message: Boo!
and ingame, I select the edit box and press the Enter button, nothing happens.
or
If I have:
Event - Edit value of edit box changes
Action - Text message: Boo!
and ingame, I select the edit box and press the Enter button, nothing happens. If I type "omg" in the edit box and then press the enter button, Boo! will appear three times.
Hey guys,
I want my players to be able to use an Edit Box Dialog Item to chat, however, I stumbled upon the issue that there is no event that is triggered when a player presses the Enter key while having an Edit Box highlighted.
When using the "UI - Player Any Player presses Enter key Down with shift Allow, control Allow, alt Allow" event, it doesn't trigger.
When using the "Dialog - Any Dialog Item is used by Player Any Player with event type Changed Text" event, it doesn't trigger.
Is there any way of getting the Enter key while the player has an Edit Box highlighted?
For now I'll use a button to get my players to send the chat, but I'd rather have it trigger on the Enter key.
I got a little problem.
When calculating the value "Button offset X" it gives me weird answers. I checked everything thoroughly, and even made it output the values of center(Half Inner Width,cDialog Button Width) and cDialogBorder, which gave the values 12 and 40. But when I add them together, it gives the value -60 (and draws my buttons too far to the left). I guess it's a bug of GE, but if I'm making a newb mistake, I'd like to know :)
But the text tag doesn't follow the unit around. I'm sure I'm making a newbie mistake, so sorry about that. Don't worry about the contents of the text tag, it gets filled in in another trigger, which is working perfectly. My goal is to just have the text tag follow the marine.
What I found out is that the text tag doesn't want to attach itself to the attachment point, but is willing to attach itself to the unit itself if I use a different action.
Now, even though I don't need it, I'm wondering how to attach a text tag to an attachment point. Is the Status Bar attachment point not valid?
I thought a dyke was the same as a levee... Didn't even know about the insult version.
Also, this word banning is ridiculous. It's online content, and that's not rated by the ESRB and Blizzard shouldn't be able to get sued for something like it. And ofcourse you'd get punished by the law if you spraypaint an offensive word on someone's hood, but that's in a context. This is just an unit running at you with a random word above it. No context, it's not aimed towards anyone. Seriously, how can you be offended by it!?
Where is the world going with it's retarded censorship. I miss the time when people could say fuck on the television without a beep.

Line of sight blockers don't work and vision height is 0 and can't go below 0.
Note that it's not actually seeing units beyond the wall, it's just replacing the Black Mask with Fog of War.
EDIT:
Fixed by setting the Unexplored Areas to Black Mask (Reduced Radius) in Map Options.

Hey,
In my map, the black mask is being changed into fog of war even though the unit can't see the location. Picture:
Ofcourse, I don't want that to happen, but how?

Thanks, Helral, this finally gave me the power to hide the chat :)

Awesome map, I really enjoyed myself while playing. I'll use your official forums for feedback :)

Awesome game, but can't seem to find much players in the EU servers at the moment. Are they all hosting their own games or something?

At these times I hate the EU/US splitup... :(

Time to track down the guy responsible for this and 'convince' him to reverse it. Now we can, blues have their RL names in the forums too! :D
