cmon, he got called stupid by a mod, shouldn't the mod get punished for that? and i'm sorry but the word troll has no meaning no more. Or, it probably seems to have the meaning 'someone I don't agree with'.
when the Xel'Naga made the Zerg, they learnt their mistake from the Protoss. The Protoss were all egotistical and divided, and thus the Aeon of Strife happened. The Xel'Naga gave the Zerg one single mind so that the Zerg wouldn't be torn apart by inner-strife. The Overmind's main goal was what the Xel'Naga intended the merging of the Protoss and Zerg into one whole. The Protoss had purity of form, the Zerg purity of essence. Thus, the Overmind believed that the Zerg would become perfect if they assimilated the Protoss.
The Protoss' reason for fighting the Zerg isn't about religion. It's about self-preservation, old-wounds/etc. In addition, the Zerg had advance scouts in the Korpulu Sector.
The Protoss read their minds, to discover their only goal was: assimilation. So probably the ultimate goal of the Zerg isn't 'kill or be killed', its' perfection, like the Xel'Naga intended.
well in lore there's not much leeway for Protoss and Zerg campaigns. You could base a Protoss campaign around their war with an alien race that led to the banning of the Colossus. Maybe dissident Khalai or Nerazim Protoss who aren't a part of the Shakuras Protoss because of their history. For Zerg, a rogue Cerebrate or an Infested Terran.
well, remember belly of the beast in sc2s campaign? heroes would only become incapacitated = knocked out, unable to do anything once their HP reached 0. then they would get up after a while
