In the interest of simplifying the display and making the UI smaller, I am going to try to create a custom unit card that displays various stats.
I assume that the best way to do this is by dialog, but my problem is that I know how to get the unit's stats (damage, movement speed, etc.) but I don't know how to display them as text (while they change constantly during gameplay). As in, if a unit has 3.0 movement speed, I need the command card to say that - and then, when the unit's movement speed increases by 25%, I need it to say that it has 3.75 movement speed, and likewise for damage, etc.
I don't want to just dive in and take a completely wrong turn in this, so I thought I'd post here and see if anybody has any ideas of how to do this.
I guess you would have to periodically check that and update the texts...
The lag isnt so bad with periodic triggers, I have custom made health bars that i constantly update every 0.5 seconds and it doesnt seem to lag down the game in bnet.

@Zolstice: Go
But I would have to do that for numerous players and numerous stats.
Also, I can guess at how to make a custom health bar, but I have no idea how to make the stats transform into visible text.
