And that is the problem! I do not know when it is shooting at me because it has impossible turning and turns to me behind my back where I cannot see it and when I am forced to fly away from it due to a combination of excessive additional enemies firing upon me and needing to gain some distance for another strafing run. I then get hit by 4-5 of its mega blasts which remove most of my health. Sometimes It does not even aim at me, I am hit from behind by it shooting at someone else while I am gaining distance.
Well there's a few strategies I can offer (as someone who has soloed it on heroic level 10):
Gain distance when it is doing the lines of death or whatever. Since you can A/D dodge it's normal attacks at range, and it does 2-3 rounds at most before lines of death.
Fly directly away from it (not at an angle). Keep the little arrow that points out where the boss is DIRECTLY behind you (that way it's on your 6, and you maximize your speed away from it.
What tank? You mean the other two players who dropped some time ago who did not take a tank character? Or maybe I should go tank at level 1 as I have not got around to levelling up alternative characters for now.
Your map
My map? I'm just disagreeing with ya.
has major problems with player retention on the US servers. Half of the games lose half the players before the first mission is even done. For example two guys ran into a flame trap, died and then almost immediatly dropped before I got to them to revive them.
I have not had people drop that early actually. Or die that stupidly really.
The second half is some good ideas, I hope the devs take those and add them.
I strongly recommend revising/removing the space ship battle mission. It feels very unpolished compared with the other missions.
During the first part of the mission one can constantly dock and undock to full heal, making it very easy. During the boss battle of the mission one cannot full heal making it insanely hard.
Disagreed, there is a bunch of tricks that can make the boss much easier.
There is no minimap. Camera Z cutoff means that you can end up left inside a black void devoid of any discernible features and completely disorientating. Flying against the edges of the arena results in a sudden and uncontrolled flip that is completely disorientating and will more often than not get you hit. Most hits you take will come from behind as when flying away from the boss you cannot see who it is shooting at and how it is facing.
Don't fly away from the boss while he is shooting at you.
The number of missiles flying during the first part at any given time is such that game performance (frame rate) is more often than not a problem. The bosses look visually unpolished as they are missive ships yet can near instantly turn 180 to lock onto the player. Let us not forget that the mechanics themselves are out of place as all your experience grinding, gear grinding, class abilites etc seem to be worth nothing as you are in space ship for the entirety of the mission.
If you must keep the space ships then consider making them control the same as heroes with a top down view, cursor target attack and wasd movement. This would feel much more in place and fix most of the issues without needing to change the mission too much.
Otherwise consider changing it so that you shoot stuff on foot or in turrets from the space platform. This way your gear and levels come into effect. However this might make the mission too generic.
The one zealot boss who is potentially a playable character (forget his name) has a seemingly undogeable attack for most classes making it impossible to do with less than 3 players. Specifically when he charges at you his movement speed is faster than most characters without a sprint and he cannot be knocked back either so he is guaranteed to land at least 1 melee hit on you. For most classes on heoric, especially ranged DPS, a single melee hit of his knocks off a good amount of life. This is based on observations at Heroic 1 (lowest heroic mode) and a level 11 hero with appropriately levelled gear (not that low level). Obviously at level 30 with level 30 gear he is likely no problem at Heroic 1 however one should not be doing him at just Heroic 1 then...
Don't know much about the zealot boss to comment. I would try to position your tank better.
The first mission can be exploited to get reasonably high levelled gear at a low level. Due to the nature of the mission and type of mobs encountered it is very easy to run it at Heroic 10 (max difficulty) with characters around level 5 to get level requirement 17-18 items. It does not even take that long to do if one has the right balance of heroes (constant double damage debuff on boss).
Strongly agreed. In fact you can do it solo with a char at level 4.
*was made to easy by the turrets, maybe give the turrets a cooldown or (a max distance)
The turrets do have a max distance, and again higher difficulties they'll be less effective. Mission one on normal is meant to be a basic tutorial.
- In Halo you could get the turrent use it as a wepon, decrease movement speed.
*Odin suit should be nerfed a bit aswell is a bit to strong to clear everything, at that map.
When you play on higher difficulties the Odin suit will be a lot weaker.
I meant the other map, on a platform where your object is to investigate. Dont know the excact name.
I call that mission two. Don't worry about the investigation, you will get markers on the map to show you where you need to go. IMO you're a little too highly railroaded for that mission.
The first boss of the second mission? That's against the Eagle isn't it? It's a four phase boss. Mission two shouldn't be that hard considering I managed to do it solo.
Eagle Phase: Put someone in the turret, shoot, watch where the fire is going to spread
Bot phase: circle around
Fire Phase: Circle around, go through fires if necessary don't get caught by flamethrower
Missile Phase: Circle around, watch for the red circles
I can give you other boss tips if you need them as well.
