lol well we're working out our schedules, but I'll keep you and others who have expressed an interest in this thread in mind when we need fillers for large maps :)
is there an SC2 vent channel? Since there may be a lack of casting experience maybe you can live cast new maps on a custom maps night then edit and cast what went on that night on youtube from the game recording. That way you can focus on good maps, throw in some custom graphics... and manage the time of the review show to something along the lines of 8 minutes. Oh and another thing... when doing maps live we should be able to express what we really think of the map... just a honest opinion... like this map sucks bawls... or we can say the creator of this map really shyt the bed when he came up with this idea. And there should be a rating system. :D and how much are you paying for peoples time? :D
I recall someone making a vent channel a while back, but I never used it. Also, I'm not getting paid to do this so I'm not paying anyone else to do it either. If you wanting any sort of monetary compensation then you're looking in the wrong place.
If this works out how I'd like I'll be purchasing a 2nd copy of SC2 so that I can sneak on over to the EU server. The NA limitation is only because I can't access EU's server at this point in time :*(
Then we could make a new team or just add you friendly folk to the roster ;)
As I'm noticing more folks starting up their own review team, I'd like to throw out an idea I've had for a long time: a review team.
I Need:
5-7 individuals who can be online to play custom games with me. You can already have a review channel/thread or not, doesn't matter.
The Plan:
Step 1: pick 2 custom maps
While a schedule isn't nailed down yet, the goal is to review 2 custom maps per session. Doesn't matter what maps we pick, but they can't be on Page 1-5. We are going to find those hidden gems and show them to the world >:D
Step 2: play several games
I'm not much for the "first look" type of review. While that will be addressed in the review, I want to get to know the map well enough to explain it to others. We're going to be picking relatively unknown maps so it's important we shine a bright light on it so that people know where to find it in the attic.
Step 3: play a review game
While I'm going to record everything (just video, no voice chat), the bulk of the video will be a brief walkthrough of the game. This is where anyone who wants to make their own walk through can do so because everyone will be "following the rules" to allow for quality review material.
Step 4: post-game group review
The last thing we'd do before wrapping up would be to record a conference call where we quickly summarize what each of us liked/disliked. After quickly giving our thoughts we'd answer a list of questions (Example: Would you play this game again? etc) and then give our personal rating for the map. The average of our scores would be our "group rating" for the video. I'd then provide links to your channel/thread where you can post your own review in your style.
The Video Format:
Intro > Map Info > Review Game > Group Review > Final Verdict > Links and Outro
Requirements:
In order to take part in this you need to meet the following criteria:
Access to NA Server
Have Skype AND can talk with mic/headset
At least 18 years old (For serious yo!)
Active member of SC2Mapster
Willing to share personal information (Your actual name, possibly phone number as well)
Final Words:
If you're thinking this is just some fun thing to do from time to time, I'd recommend you start your own reviews. As I've been saying for a very long time, I'm not happy with the current popularity system. This is one of the many ways I want to help alleviate some of the problems caused by it. I'm looking for serious people that will be reliable and are wiling to work with a group for what could be a long period of time.
If that's not you. . . then GTFO mah thread!

We're actually full, reviewer wise, but we may be needing people to help fill out player slots when reviewing large maps.
I'll update the thread in a few days with more info about that.

I'm always open to ideas, if you and the other EU fellahs want to put together a good setup I can merge with this I'm all ears :D

Bump for 2nd chance. Don't disappoint me :P
*epic facepalm*
Clearly you guys really don't want your maps to ever make it above page 5 lol
I tried. . .
