Damn, it would be easier to understand on a video tutorial. I guess I'l make one ;-)
I think I got it anyway, thanks :) I use Gimp and not Photoshop, though, so the options are a little different, but I will figure it out.
Also, I just tried a slightly different method, which seems to work reasonably well, as well: You can send a "Halo Start" actor message to the actor before making a screenshot (this probably doesn't work in the model previewer, but it doesn't show attachments anyway, so I cannot use it) then you got the white border in the screenshot from the start :)
Attached the test, it shows a terran-style wireframe for my entry for the creature contest. Looks okay for me :)
Still, I don't know, how to make it "zerg-colored", just colorizing it doesn't seem to do the trick.
A quick question: How do you create wireframes efficiently? Of course, you don't draw them from scratch, you make a screenshot from the unit and then do some steps to get your wireframe, right? What exactly do you need to do?
I tried this once, by doing it something like this:
screenshot of the unit with a black background for easy separation
saturation -> zero to remove colors
replaced black with transparency, so only a white, wireframe-like picture remained
But it didn't look right ingame. Also, how to easily get the 3 shield wireframe pictures?
Also, how to make the zerg-style wireframes? The same way, just colored in a specific color?
Helral just fond a method to fix the missing hero icon issue when using zerg UI. However, there is no zerg border for hero icons, so we would need to use the terran or protoss ones.
I would like to have a zerg-ish versions of these icons.
I attached the terran icons for reference; the zerg ones should use the exact same parameters (same size, same transparency, background, approximately same shape etc).

€ misunderstood something...
Could not say it more accurate ;). Exactly what I expected.
Don't bother with the overpressed version (unless you want it), I can handle that one myself.
