Hi, guys. I'm hard at work making my first playable, publishable map. I don't know if you've seen the videos I've posted already, but I'm doing some research about how I can promote my map, before and after release. Hopefully, any ideas you give can remain here for other visitors and the community in general to use.
I'm not yet ready to go in depth on what the map is all about yet, and I have more similar videos coming up.
Now, my two questions are these:
What do you think of the following promotion strategy? Build up hype beforehand, then as I get close to release explain the lore and basic gameplay. Afterwards, after release, delve deep into the finer points and entice people to get better at the map.
What could get the ball rolling? At the moment, the main threshold is getting your map in a position on the list for it to be played. Now, how does one break that threshold with their map?
