Microsoft isn't going to try to take over the world. I mean even if they have the capability to monitor everyone, They will not. Could you imagne how mch they would spend hiring people to monitor everyone 24/7. More likely then not they will only trace individuals whom are suspected to have committed a cyber crime. Such technology will help out the criminal justice system with dealing with cyber crimes more prudently. You know the bad ones like pedofiles, child pornographers, cyber terrorist, and cyber bullies. I Guarantee you the government is paying Microsoft to develop such technology for the war on terror. BooHoo it will take 5 extra minutes to start playing your new video game.
Pro tip... the only way to ensure you aren't constantly monitored is to stay off the internet. If microsoft wants to innovate let them. Prices may go down for products if an anti-piracy system is perfected (Not taking greed into account)

Since day one Microsoft products have been pirated... driving the technological advancements in DRM that counters the technology of the time. From punch cards, code wheels, to special floppy discs to online only content.(Cough Battlenet) most companies have been developing and coming up with anti-theft methods because lets be for real... even though it is illegal it is impossible to bring causes of actions to individuals whom break copyright and piracy laws. As a result legit entitled consumers will have to deal with inconvenience.
Corporations have the right to do whatever they want to do... if you don't like it sucks to be you... boycott microsoft all you want.... throw your xbox away and buy over priced macs. They won't care. They are rich. -_- I mean seriously they are gonna make millions off of a single video game. (In which isn't coming out on PC because of pirates.
