Ugly bypass: delete the entire Starcraft II directory (binaries). and re-install [Will try to find a more focused bypass as i test.]
Solution: Uknown.
------
Anybody else using Chinese have any similiar issues? It doesn't seem to happen with RUSSIAN, only Chinese (probably lots of special kludges for Chinese servers).
Pitfall: Unable to update multilocale maps properly, for those freshly published after 3.0 patch. This does not block the update, but only the enUS locale will be published. This leaves "published name for <your locale> does not exist, and it will be excluded from publishing." in message log.
Workaround: Overwrite enUS locale texts with texts from your desired locale.
I get this message for my Multi Locale maps ... but it DOES publish them ... even with that message.
It seems, Blizzard removed the ability to select/target unit that is not yours? Anyone else having this problem? Most of my maps broke because I rely on selecting units (any unit) for trigger actions. Now that is not possible. :(
id recommend you do this in your map initialisation trigger ... :
Actor Event Editor for Msg Type "Ability" .... SubName "Button Hover Off" appears in the actual Event list as "Abil.xxx.ButtonHoverOn"
Actor Event Editor for Msg Type "Ability" .... SubName "Button Hover On" appears in the actual Event list as "Abil.xxx.ButtonHoverOff"
Solution: Just use them from the drop down menu the wrong way around, and believe what appears in the event list.
-----
PitFalls: CursorActors (CActorSplat/CursorSplat) will incorrectly attach the model to the Caster when Cursor is hovering over Button, but will correctly attach to the Cursor once the cursor moves away from the button. ie: "Abil.xxxx.Cursor" will (incorrectly) behave like "Abil.xxx.ButtonHoverOn"
Pitfall: Since updating I'm unable to load custom maps in Editor. I go to test document and I get an error saying it can't find the SC Switcher or it's out of date or something like that. Has anyone else had this problem?
No, but double check
- Battle.net client is up to date.
- That you are not using an old shortcut to something out of date (try launching editor from the battle.net client, or from inside the sc2 client.
- check your SC2 client options for 64bit/32bit version to match your OS.
but it also shows this for timer windows, most likely for leaderboards and everything blizz made too.
Yes, i've had the same problem with Timer Windows. I just adjusted the font/style to use a slightly smaller one. ChatBar was the style I had with the issue.
Pitfall: Units and commands on terrain height <= 8 "float" above the ground. Shadows are disconnected and move actions don't match cursor location.
Solution: Increase terrain height
Manually increasing terrain height across an entire map is impractical, but it can be directly increased in t3Terrain.xml (change heightMap offset). This creates problems with any objects or doodads which remain at the previous level (ie, underground). I wrote a quick python script to update all objects by a fixed amount; it seems to have worked fine on test maps and an active arcade map, but please feel free to message me if you experience any issues with it.
edit: Just to be explicit, the script is intended to update the "Objects" file.
I had a slightly different issue which manifested as 1) Cursor seeming to "fly" about 3 units too high, and Miners not able to collect at Mineral fields and units not able to pick up items from ground (to add to inventory).
Pitfall: Units on low ground not able to interact with other units on low ground. Cursor Pointer not aligned to cursor click location.
Solution: Reduce height of map base (Map Menu -> Map Options -> Base Height). Reduced from 8 to 2.

Yes this appears to overcome problem. Thanks Renee (and Korvin for earlier similar comment).
Pitfall: Cannot Logon - invalid userid / password when trying to publish, and list for Regions for Publish is empty.
Trigger: Using the Chinese text localistion in game seems to break the sc2-editor region / locale configuration. Additional information is here: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/19974607490

----I desperately want a fix for this as well. BTW: I've reported. Feel free to add comments: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/19137055157#1

Pitfall: Trigger Actions to Override Options Removed (for some option no longer valid).
Result in message: cannot override option [showmissiontime] because it cannot be overridden or cannot be found
Solution: Remove the offending statement.
