This is Great, for what is worth here I've provide a picture of what I've just started working on. What I mean by refined is to build with the intention to polish the current game design and at the same time bring forward a new perspective on the game design. The Goal behind this is to show that even tho there is a another SCV team game in the works the original will still be compatible thus making it relevant to play and that even tho there is two SCV Team games there will be both have its similarities and its new experiences.

That is Awesome, Ive played The Toss Team. I was blown away by it the first time I played it felt so good to play another variation of the SCV Team especially as protoss, tho others might disagree because you did not use the Probe like how the SCV was for the SCV team but I will tell you this it is way better with Fenix for the builder. When it came to the SCV team the focus for the Tower aspect of the game is around the persons choice of Towers they would potentially build on the map. Now with the Toss team I see that the focus for the Tower aspect of the game is based solely on the persons choice of upgrades all the towers would have and I can understand why. The features with the Toss team that is there like gathering wood to build your base but at the same time you need to gather the orbs to build the zealot workers to harvest the wood to clear a area so you can build a base is a great way to start the game and managing the tree resources is another excellent way to keep the supply of trees on the map for more lasting games and it works, In my games I like to use the Trees as natural barriers to stop potential attack from happening to the cannons.
Now I got a question for you since you have permission from the Map creator to "The SCV Team", Do you think there would be any objection for me making another variation of The SCV team. Now before you answer that I'm going to pitch to you my goals and thoughts. One of my goals for the map is bringing forward a more refined version and correcting the inherent problems that were occurring in the original. I've already been in the works at creating a bank system that pulls Information from the original bank so is can be applied to the next version. Its a small starting step but the first step towards expanding a game that is mostly consider Broken beyond Repair by its Original Creator.
The scv team was one of my favorite games. Although there is that bug where your level resets for no reason.
Been thinking about this one and I believe I understand why this happens. I've seen this lvl reset happen to me in several games before and I believe it has something to do with the EXP Counter exceeding the limit and resetting it self back to 0.
@Ahli634: Go Well that I can not tell you but what I can tell you is that I tried to find and download The SCV team from battle.net and the game is not even available for download sad to say. But that hasn't stop me from trying to bring some new idea to the table with The SCV team. In fact I've been in the learning process in understanding how banks work in the game and with my ability to access the only thing I can from the SCV team which is the bank file. I have been successful with creating a new fresh map and load up the bank files for The SCV team in the map I created. So making a new version of The SCV team with only having access to the Bank file is very achievable if the bank file is able to be understood (which it is).
That would pretty interesting Idea to see happen. There are bunch of maps out there that are abandoned. One map that come to my mind is "The SCV Team" last updated 2015. Now for those that don't know about what Happen to "The SCV Team" the Map creator here in a reply post on his said that The SCV Team can no longer be worked on due to corrupt files and that means abandoned forever. A Gem like "The SCV Team" needs to be remade from the ground up. So here is my quick thought maybe there is a reason why the game has become abandoned as we can see with "The SCV Team". Which brings about the fact that adopting a map also means adopting the potential problems that come along with it. That's why its a good idea to put up a Backup Map File on Mapster before it becomes broken or even potentially lost.
Putting all the bad that could be aside. I think this would be very great idea for map preservation in that regard. We will always have the original map in the arcade but having a better renewed version to play is also another way to keep the map going. For example redoing "The SCV Team" needs to be replicated the best it can but also bringing forth a new Idea at the same time. Certainly this would be a good start in bringing forward a renewed map but there is also a several down side to this as well that need to be corrected. See in "The SCV Team" you have stats saved up like your Lvl along with perks by beating the game on different modes there is even a PET you can have in this game. By remaking the Map that means you would Lose you Lvl with all the perks and even your Pet and that is certainly not good for the next expansion if your planing on just improving the little stuff. To correct this problem we are going to need to get in to the bank file of the Original game and implement some sort of system that recognizes certain key parts in the bank file so it can "transfer" your stats with the perks and even your PET or what else have you over to the remake. If done this would help the remake game tenfold in that way the player feels not everything is lost and you got to start back at the bottom in the renewed version.
