This all depends on how many animations you export with this model
ALso to the person asking about attack animations, when you export your model, do not select any animations (other than the ones it auto selects for you) and it wil auto generate the attack animations with the correct names that sc2 uses.

My textures werent working when i put everything in folders. so i put everything in the import manager out of folders and it all worked that should help all you with texture problems :D
I tried to import a ghoul and crypt fiend flowing the tutorial. (models taken from the model pack somebody posted). the textures are all blue. Also, Im not going to continue this unless I figure out if blizzard is allowing it or now. If we OWN wc3, are they against us putting models in sc2?
Please read the posts,and the tutorial says this, they MUST be in the same folder and in root, right click, move to. { root}. And your textures will work

I read your post. When I move the texture to the root it says it can not be found or something and it changes the texture to little red and blue square. I will try it again, though.

but now.. I think I will not continue with this unless blizzard gives us the OK. I dont see why they will have nay problem with it as long as we own the game and only use models in thier games. But still.
for an authentic rpg map u need a lot. I think its strange to have someone with a sword in one room and in the next everyone is shooting with machine guns and lasers. but im already at 19mb :/
yeah all models are going to throw you over if thats the case, your just going to have to wait until blizzard incrased the host size, or lets us host our own maps... just a waiting game for now.

i have tried to import a T1 Priest with Benediction.
shoulders and the weapon are completely missing. body &hair is buggy, seems he take all hairstyles at once.
there is currently an issue with attack animation names, for example, the lichkings attack animation is called "attack2h" , if you select this from the animation list, the game will not know how to play it due to its name.
Currently for the lichking model at least, if you do not select any animations at all (let it auto select defaults) it will automatically add attack - attack04, and he will auto attack ingame.
We will be able to change animation names soon however.
When you export the model, dont select or de-select any animations, Just go right to File>export>m3 once you pick your model, and the viewer will automatically pick the attack animations and name them correctly.

which model are you using? if its the lichking, he dosnt have a death animation.... because...he never died =P, in the game, they kil him via cinematic, not ingame, so they never gave him a death animation.

I've imported 5 models: 3 types of fel orc and 2 types of ghoul, and no one of them has the death animation. Simply, when they die, they disappear. : (
You don't always have to publish your maps either, you can make large wow projects to send around the community. It's not ideal, but.

i have a rpg map for like 5-6 players and with the wowmodels its impossible to stay unter 10 mb. maybe u know a way to the map with friends?

Currently your only options
Import it inot 3dmax and attach the graphics yourself
or, import a naked character, then attach the other goodies via Actors Site Operations

I did this system and effectively the attack animations work, but now the death animation doesn't work. Any solution?
