for a map I wish to create I plan to use the cube, sphere and other geometric models for units (dont ask why hehe).
If you don't know which ones I mean, select the unit module and select any of the units without a real icon (the dark+green ones), pretty much all of them are geometric models.
I've two small issues however with those models:
1. Theyre somewhat transparent, is there a way to solve this? The preview function didnt seem to allow me to change anything to the model. Textures might be an option, but Im still a newb when it comes to using the data editor correctly. Is there any way?
2. Ingame, when you try to select a group (so hold mouse button + drag then release), no units will be selected, while hovering your mouse above a unit allows you to select the unit (and double click in selecting all of the same type obviously). I noticed that if I only change the model of a unit to a cube, group selection is no longer possible. So apparently the model has something to do with what will be selected. I tried changing selection radius and some other stuff, unfortunately no solution. Any idea?
I really would like to use those geometric models for a UMS, but these two issues seem quite troublesome :(
Are you sure you're just replacing the graphic, instead of referring to the cube model in the models tab? It probably has a lot of default data in it. Is it even a unit?

What I did was select a baneling (or hydra or colossus for that matter) in the Data editor, selected the model with (i.e. baneling, not the one 'death' or like that) in the tree, and changed the Model field to /assets/effects/other/cube.

Afaik this is 'replacing the graphic', no?

Nobody has an answer ? :(
Im just curious whether group selection of units is based on the models as thats the only thing I changed.
