Hey all, new here. I did a lot of warcraft 3 mapping, but I'm just now diving into the starcraft 2 editor so bare with me.
I have looked and looked for a tutorial on developing a resource system like warcraft 3s. I've made a peon with the World of warcraft model viewer, exported him. I currently have his run, attack, stun, death and stand animations working flawlessly, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get him to simulate chopping down a tree. He only stands in front of it gathering resources.
I've tried renaming his attack animation to "gather" or "gather (scv/probe) trying to match the right animation names. Basically I need the attack animation to read as his gather animation, but can't figure out what it is?
I'm also going to change what mineral attachment looks like so it will appear as little logs that he can carry back to the hall, but one step at a time.
I'll be working on changing the gas models into gold mines after I get this worked out.
There is a system of events under worker's actor's Events field which make my worker play Gather (named Attack) and Build animations. My worker was exported from WoW too.
Green arrows are about Gather (Attack) animation.
Orange arrows are about Build animations
Red crosses highlight stop animation events for both.

Under the events for the unit's actor have you set it to play the animation when channeling the ability?
Contribute to the wiki (Wiki button at top of page) Considered easy altering of the unit textures?
