hi I have a problem with points.
I have a trigger that says for example:
Event
unit enters within 2 of point 1
Action
X
and another trigger that says
Event
every 30 seconds
Action
move point 1
now for some reason in the game action X will only take place at the original place of point 1 not the moved point 1.
I have checked all the triggers and they are all correct. I also tried doing it with location of a unit (beacon) for example
if unit comes with in 2 of beacon y then do action x
and another trigger saying
instantly move beacon y.
action x will only go off at the original placement of beacon y despite the beacon moving!
I hope i've made my dilemma clear, I'm bad at explaining.
In your event, are you putting a variable that contains "Point 1" or is it a point already placed on the map? You could try setting a point variable to the point placed on the map, and then use the variable in the Event instead.
yeah i tried that but for some reason in the event section it won't recognise my point variables. it's very weird. I did try a unit variable and destroying the old unit and setting the variable to the new unit. still no luck.
I've run into the same thing. Unless I'm missing something obvious, I believe it's bugged.
Create a point: Pos A
Create a trigger that fires when a unit gets within 1 range of Pos A
Using a trigger, move Pos A to another location
Order a unit to move to Pos A
- The unit moves to the new location
- The "point move" was obviously successful
- The trigger that is supposed to fire when within 1 range does not execute however
Move the unit to the original position of Pos A
- The trigger fires as if though Pos A had never been moved
I tried bypassing the problem by using "Point: Point From XY" derived from a "variable" instead of a "value" point. Even this refused to work.
