I have disabled turning in my map (by using a movement speed of <0.1) and instead turn units using triggers toward their current order point.
However, it seems that units always turn at a very high turnrate when they are given the order to use an ability, ignoring their given turnrate.
Did anyone find a way to disable this? I want the unit to turn at its given turnrate (0) and still cast when it points in the correct direction. Thanks.
This may not solve the problem: if stationary turn rate is zero and an ability requires the unit to face the target, it may not actually interrupt the cast; instead, the missile might home in and go around and hit anyway. I haven't tried it yet but this is what missile turrets do when you fly over them at high speed.
That has to do with the "turret" weapons. The stationary turn rate is the rate at which a unit turns to face a target point when moving / attacking / casting spells while not moving. I tried with a very low stationary turn rate and casting force field with a sentry, and it did indeed extremly slowly start turning toward the target (without casting forcefield until it reached the desired facing)!

Problem solved: Set "stationary turn rate" to the same value as the unit's turn rate.
