I created a custom unit that has a sniper like ability. The unit has a sniper rifle and when I use the ability, he just stands there and the ability fires (the animation plays for the bullet firing) however, the guy never turns and readies his weapon before firing. I guess the best way to explain it is, he never does his point and shoot animation. He shoots fine with autoattack, but not when using the ability. Anybody know what controls that? Thanks!
go to actors, find your unit actor, open the "events +" field, add a new event and set it to "Ability.(your ability).(start/cast/whatever)", and then change the action below to "anim play", set any name and pick an animation (check the model previewer to find out animation names), that should work.
also, as TheZizz said, your abilities arc needs to be 0 so that your unit actually faces the target before using his ability.

Does you happen to have your ability's Arc field set to 360? Set it to 0 and he must turn to face the target.
You need to set up your actor events.
