Hi everybody!
I have a little problem, and thought someone here might have an idea how to do this
(I used the search function but wasn't able to find any answers so far, but maybe I searched for the wrong terms)
I'm just trying to figure out the editor, basic stuff, and wanted to just test out some stuff, to better understand what actors, effects, behaviours and so forth do and how they interact.
So what I wanted/tried is to create a mod-file, in which i would do all my stuff, to just add it as a dependency to a map in which I'd test the stuff.
(I want it in a mod file so a friend of mine and I can share the stuff we've made, and integrate it into each other's maps).
now the problem;
After creating a modfile, integrating it into a map, and then changing the modfile again to delete some stuff that wasn't needed (because I noticed I had copied some models I didn't want to copy), the Mapfile still has the models that aren't in the modfile anymore.
Now i can geit neither the models (because they are part of the mod that is part of the map) out of my map, not the dependency itself, because it tells me that units from it are in use (which I did place onto the map for a test but then erased them again, so there are none left...
So, what I'd basically need to know is if there is a way to "refresh" or reload the mod-component of the map...
I hope there is a way - I couldn't imagine having to make a new testing map everytime you change something in the modfile...
Or is there a better way to export/import stuff so it can be used in other (already existing) maps?
Hope I made clear what my problem is, sorry if I sound confused - but I am. ^^
Unfortunately, if you have used a unit in your mapo from a dependency, you can't change that dependency. However, as long as the map hasn't been published, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Any time you update the Mod file, the map will use the updated version. If your still having problems, make sure the map file is closed each time you move back to your mod file. Other than that there shouldn't be any other problems, besides random GE bugs mind.

ge seems to have some issues with mod files.....
safer bet is creating all data objects your self and not using units that are duplicated from existing stuff
what we need are custom dependancies that we can export and import.... dont believe they exist
