Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void - Campaign Discussion
[glow=red,2,50]Note: Map Night on hold until patch 1.2 settled in[/glow]
I just played the Starcraft 2 campaign again and I must say I enjoyed the campaign tech tree and armory. In between campaign levels, players are given credits/points to spend on base upgrades. These base upgrades are permanent and will help with upcoming missions in succeeding your objectives. These upgrades include: enabling new units, adding health/armor to buildings and improving resource extracting. Credits/points are scare so players must decide carefully which managements to invest on and which to ignore. I enjoyed replaying the campaign in many different ways.
Today, I would like to discuss ideas of the upcoming expansion pack: Legacy of the Void. Here are some random ideas of what the Protoss Campaign MAY BE like and how the research/upgrade managements will unfold.
Note: Must listen to this song while reading this topic.
En Taro Edun, Executor. The Xelnaga Duran Clones has been hatched (seen in the Heart of the Swarm) and now the entire galaxy is in chaos. Billions of Zerg/Protoss hybrids are destroying many protoss, terran and zerg worlds. With the help of Zeratul, Raynor and the new Overmind, you must destroy all Xelnaga Temples to stop the terrifying hybrids.
The Gantrithor II, Zeratul's carrier flagship is hovering over an unknown planet. The Protoss campaign levels will be taken place in this ship. Like the Hyperion Battlecruiser, the Gantrithor II will have places to visit, tosses to talk to, and research to invest in.
The Altar - This place is where protoss commandeer the ship. Like The Bridge in WoL, you may access past and present levels of the campaign.
Oracle Armory - Place where you may channel pylon energies to create upgrades for your Protoss Forces.
En Taro Shrine - Here lies the Crystal Network. As you play through the early levels of the campaign, you will need to rebuilt relationships with many different protoss warriors. Most have a deep cultural prejudice against Dark Templars (Zeratul). When you defeat them, you gain their allegiance and they built WarpGates to the Carrier flagship. One by one, you must gain the power to wield the unique powerful units from different tribes such as the, immortals, stalkers, phoenixes, etc.
Celestial Warp-in: You may call upon friendly reinforcement warriors both Raynor's and Zerg Kerrigans here (In HotS, Kerrigan gets to continue controlling her minions). Zeratul decides to reunite many small Protoss tribes around the galaxy. You may warp-in extra units to the battlefield.
The Pensieve: A bonus sacred place inside the Carrier with allows you to replay the epic Protoss campaigns from Starcraft 1. Relive the battles and old heroes.
More coming soon.
