I am trying to make a battlefield style map, but I can't figure out how to make the game end. It could either end when a player group or team reaches a combined goal of X kills, (or combined resource of 0). Another way would be like the melee win conditions, except that all buildings and units on an entire team must be completely destroyed. Any help is much appreciated.
There is End game trigger, where you can set which player wins/loses.
If that is what you looking for...just search End game in triggers...If you want all those conditions to end the game, I suggest trying to study triggers a bit. It shouldnt be too complicated.

i.e
"It could either end when a player group or team reaches a combined goal of X kills"
Since you know how to count kills, you could just add condition to the trigger that counts the kills.
If team1 kills (integer) = x - > endgame
