I'm trying to make an ability that requires no target.
When cast, it will look for nearby eggs, which are then morphed into ... something, Zerglings for example.
So, ability
which calls an effect instant,
which calls an effect search area
which uses a validator of type unit type = egg
and applies an effect set
which, finally, applies a behavior to change the owner of the egg to the caster and orders it to morph into something.
Well, at least that is the plan.
Currently, I can't seem to be able to get the target-by-searching to work,
as I either get the error on the validator or just nothing at all.

Any hints or so?
The structure you described sounds valid. Make sure to add the validator to the set effect, which is executed by the search.
Très cool. Danke.
Simple enough as a change. I'd still sit there wondering...
