Hey all,
I'm fairly new to making maps. I followed a few tutorials on how to create an inventory system for my map. I've set up a bag, weapon and armor classes, and an equipment screen for my hero. However, I'm having problems transferring abilities from an armor to a unit. My question is how do I get a unit to pick up and armor and gain the ability on that piece of said armor,( ie. cloak armor would have the cloak ability)?
P.s. I have also created an item, ability, button, and actor for this armor, I'm sure it something easy that I'm missing, I'm just not sure how to find it.

P.p.s. I also will post a new thread about how to limit an item to an inventory slot, but i'm curious if that's another easy problem to solve.
Items can add behaviours via the Items data type that you then put in the associated slot on the unit under the Units data type that you use for your item. The Buff type behaviour can cloak stuff. You can also use the buffs as counters for requirements and validators for abilities.
The unit would need to have the ability before hand but it is hidden using Requirements, this is limited to 64 abilities per unit (less if morphs are involved)
Thanks for the response Doc, I got my weapon system to work and the class issue figured out, but I'm kind of unclear on where to find the requirements for a units abilities. Do I add the abilities under the units tab, then just don't add it to the command card?
You must add the abilities to the unit under the Units data type. You can then link them to the command card. This allows units to have abilities not in the command card that can only be activated by triggers and Issue Order effects.
Requirements usually go under the Ability: Commands - Requirements field of the ability. Passive buttons in the command card can also use requirements but that is just to reveal them for aesthetic purposes.

Your second question is an item class issue.
