i created an dummy-behaviour based critical strike, trigger checks if the dummy behaviour is on the unit, and calculates chance to crit etc..
now i wanted to make that critical strike an learnable ability for my heroes, with 3 levels. i used this tutorial to figure out how, but failed.
- i have my dummy behaviours (type buff) that do nothing - 3 different ones, called critical strike with x2, x3 or x4 extension for the levels.
- i created an ability "Critical Strike" and added the 3 dummy behaviours to it.
- created an Hero Learn ability, added the "Critical Strike" ability to it on the "learn 001" spot etc. etc.
- i added the critical strike ability to my hero, also the hero learn ability - changed the command card and added all buttons and stuff i need.
in the tutorial that guy says its necessary to add the single behaviours also, that would mean the crit x2, x3 and x4 to the unit that wants to learn these things.
i did that but that made him have ALL of them, they were active - that guy from the tutorial said they wouldnt be, so i guess due to the age of that tutorial some things have changed in the editor since then.
without having the behaviours added to the unit, everything else works - leveling, getting an attribute point, increasing the skill of the "Critical Strike" - but it does not add any of the behaviour buffs
any ideas what i could have missed? is there anthing like making these behaviours "learnable" so they are turned off at first if i add them to the unit?

Nowhere does it say to add the actual behaviors. The actual behaviors should be on the (I'm guessing attack) effect, and check if your unit has the dummy behavior before applying the extra effect.
no, he definitly says to add the behaviours. and there is no effect, theire dummy behaviours and a trigger checks "if unit has behaviour, do whatever"..
actually i found the solution already by myself, there was some point in the tutorial where i stopped, did something else, returned and forgot the last actions before i stopped - and they were requirements that disable the behaviours until they are "learned".
thanks anyways!
