I can't help you with getting your color tint right, but I can help you with height. As far as I can tell, no height settings work in Events+, which is really annoying. Instead, check this thread and something called 'Site Operation'
Ehh, that comment about making Templar and Ghosts models huge kinda rings true. Model editing is cool and adds flavor, but is easily abused.
Plus 100 MB? Wings on the Thor aren't worth that much potential trouble.
Do not, under any circumstance, attempt to invent a genre.Do not attempt to create a game outside a genre. If you do anyway, absolutely make sure you do not attempt to polish a game for a game outside a genre.Let it become popular before you waste your time with polish.
That's terrible advise. Are you serious or being sarcastic?
Should show what the end result looks like at the very beginning of the first video to get attention. And your presentation of what it finally looks like is fairly weak(firing point blank at a zergling).
I also recommend HybridEnergyMissile.m3 for the actual projectile graphic.

And the wheel keeps on turning.
What saddens me most of all is how these forums went from a good source of map making discussion to a source of entertainment.

I saw your destructible islands tech video, that was awesome btw. Can't wait to see how that mechanic will play in a map.

I swear I see this problem more than anything else. You need to fix/create your attack actor.

This would be great, except this tutorial has already been made at least twice over, as seen above and seen here in this link as well. http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/map-development/730-how-to-create-an-aura/

I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet, but the Overmind. Granted you'll need to scale it down.

Popularity system has turned all things map making into a vicious, cutthroat struggle for survival. Sorry. xD
To be fair, you did specifically ask to "Let me know if you find any good ones."

The infestor attack from battlecraft sounds like what you are looking for, do some research on that.

Matter of fact if you are having trouble finding 'cool' missile FX, check out my data package for some very interesting examples. http://static.sc2mapster.com/content/files/446/725/KerenskyExpandedDataPackage1.1.SC2Map
