    A Star Wars Custom Map Idea

    Anyone can feel free to work on this since I stopped working on it for the most part. Would really suggest using some of the stuff below as ideas! hope you enjoy. If you decide to pick up the idea, keep me up to date please!

    So I noticed there wasn't a lot of StarWars SC2 custom maps out there so I decided to pickup the idea. This is just a small video I made with some cool sound effects added, but I wanted to make a StarWars like feel to it. Since I am a star wars fan I just had to make it out of curiosity. Sounds were the best way to go. If anyone wants to use this feel free, but blizzards storage usage might become problematic as it gets filled up quickly by sound files.

    Texturing

    As far as doing different textures and models for the units, its up to you. Many units like the "Storm Trooper", "Droideka", "Imperial Cruiser", "R2D2", "Jedi", "Sith", "Officers", etc can all be done on your own hands because I have no idea how to do it myself.


    Sound Files

    For the sound files I simple used google and a nifty .wav site

    If you need any of the sound files I used, currently I have a folder with all of the sounds the map used with labeles. PM me for more info.


    Game Type

    As for the game type I'm not quite sure how it would work. I wanted it to be unlimited units on the field to make awesome army clashes but it might lag.

    A simple "Death Match" mode would probably be simple enough. A "King of the Hill" type to control region would be nice as well. Its up to whoever takes the idea.

    What I originally wanted was each team has unlimited units aloud on the field and 1 Imperial Cruiser. The Cruiser controls your reinforcements that you get over a period of time. You can rid of your opponents reinforcements by destroying his Cruiser. Thus cutting his production of units over time. Give you the advantage. I was planning to use shield generators that make the Cruisers Invulnerable until you destroy them (cool idea but not needed).


    With some additional info:

    - Map would probably need a lot of adjusting/balancing.

    - Unit Texturing needs done.

    - Construction Drone (Builder) needs finished.

    - In the video, it shows a Battlecruiser with a ring below it. I was wanting units to spawn in the ring as Reinforcements every min or so of game time. As for the BC, I was thinking about using it to control upgrades for the Reinforcements as well as change the Reinforcement units spawned.

    - Droidekas could be smaller model immortals tinted brown/black.

    - Mini AT-ST could be Viking Assault Mode model stretched.

    - Healing Towers/Propaganda Towers (Sensor Towers) for storm troopers would be implemented and build enabled.

    - Solar Panels (Lowered Supply Depots) give minerals over time.

    - Dark Templar as Jedi/Sith

    - Drop Ships of kind.

    - Walls could be added or some sort of blocking path method.

    - Ewoks/Tuskan Raiders as random hostile mobs possibly added. Ewoks ftw :D

    - Wanted to add campaign citizens as officers for the imperial/republic side.

    - Ravens could be Tanks, not flying and given a BC (yamato cannon) visual ground attack with splash damage. Given droid tank sound/firing effects.

    But of course its up to whoever picks it up and I could add more but of course map size would be an issue. I'm uploading a downloadable version so you can get a better understanding than a video. Ill give the link shortly. Feel free to add whatever you like. Would really like to see it become a great custom.

    posted a message on (Help) Building = Mineral Increase

    I'm having some trouble figuring out how to set an increased value of minerals per building, (In this case "Solor Panels"). So for each "Solor Panel" you would gain an extra 3 mineral per time cycle (Being every 20 sec).

    Minerals Gained Per Cycle= 3 * x

    (x= Player's Solor Panels)

    So my question is, how would i set a buildings value in game? and then use a trigger to loop the cycle?

    posted a message on Open/Close Gate Trigger

    I'm no professional when it comes to triggers/sc2editor but I've learned a lot through videos/this website. I wanted to make a object e.x.(MetalGateStrait) open and close by clicking on the gate and then closing it. I thought I could just go into the data editor, under models, and look it up. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure it out so I'm guessing you need some sort of trigger maybe to open/close it. I used the search in the website but all i found were unanswered posts.

    What do I want?

    1. I want the gate select-able.
    2. The gate to Open/Close by player command.
    3. For things not to simply (walk through) the gate.

    posted a message on Help - Spawn different units at Start

    Sorry I'm fairly new to map making and triggers so sorry for the lack of knowledge in creating them!

    My question was wondering how to start off a map in "Game Initialization" choosing between 3 different units. (Say like before the game starts using check boxes to pick). As an example the method used in Phantom Mode type games.

    Help showing me how to do this would be appreciated! thanks.
