    posted a message on Warcraft Model Library (Artist Resource Library)

    Note: Not all Mod Files are currently uploaded to Battle.Net. If you would like to help me upload and maintain these mod files, please contact me!

    The Warcraft Model Library is a project with the intent to make creating Warcraft themed maps even easier. This library includes several Mod files that will be uploaded and updated on Battle.net for everyone to use. All you need to do to use these mods is download the mod file and place it in the mods directory in your Starcraft 2 folder (I will put a link or create a tutorial on how to do that later). Currently this library consists of DOODAD models only. However, I hope to add units and tree resource models soon. In addition, myself and a team are currently going through each model and enhancing the detail by adding normal maps.

    If you decide to use any of these mods, I only ask that you give proper credits on the loading screen or in the map itself. In addition, anybody can add mod files or update current mod files by using the Warcraft Model Library site set up. There are detailed instructions on how to do this in the Instructions document.

    I'm getting this error when I try and export a .m3 model from 3ds Max. It says "File not Found!"

    I've tried it on 3ds 2010, 2011, and I've reinstalled both 3ds max and redownloaded the scripts.

    posted a message on Newbie Wednesday- Ask Questions!

    I'm having a problem with 3ds max and the .m3 exporter/importer scripts.

    I placed them in the plugins/startup script locations, and every time I import a model the textures don't apply. I've added the paths to the textures in the user paths directory, but I still have to go back and add each material in and apply it.

    The more pressing matter, however, is the exporter. Everytime I export a model I get an error saying "File not Found!" Nothing more... What do I do?

In my opinion, beautiful terrain is one of the most important factors of immersion, which is one thing that will keep people playing for a long time. You seem to say that it doesn't matter how good the terrain looks so long as players know what to do. Using that logic, a terrain like this would be acceptable.

    Yes is it possible and relatively simple. the current version of NiNtoxicated's M3 plugin pack contains a MDX import/export plugin that can automaticly convert .mdx to .m3 http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/m3-export-plugin-3ds-max/

    the problem is, when I import the .mdx model into 3ds, none of the textures seem to apply to the model.

    I have a few models that are currently in the Warcraft 3 (.mdx) format, and I would like to convert them into a .m3 model. They were originally WoW models so their quality is better than Warcraft 3 and they have custom animations and team color already added.

    Is it possible to convert these while retaining the animations and team color? Any help is appreciated!

    posted a message on Problem: Need to make ground texture file Larger

    So, I have these texture files that I want to make into a texture set. The problem is, they're 256x256. I need them to be 1024x1024. What I tried to do was open the image in PhotoShop, increase the canvas size to 1024x1024 and then duplicate the image so that it filled the enlarged space. I then saved the file as my new .dds file and imported it.

    Here is an image of what it looked like in Photo Shop (also looked like this after I saved it and opened it up in Brutal Lethal Pictures) PS

    So I went ahead and made a tileset, and I got some problems with the lighting, but it seemed to still work... kind of... In Game In Game

    Can someone help me solve this problem?
