StarCraft: Mass Recall
StarCraft: Mass Recall (SCMR) is a project that recreates the classic StarCraft and Brood War gameplay as well as the entire single-player campaigns within the StarCraft II engine. StarCraft: Mass Recall contains 68 maps, 59 from the original StarCraft/Brood War game, 3 that were hidden or deleted on various StarCraft supports, and 6 from the 1998 demo campaign.
You need to have StarCraft II installed in order to play the Mod. StarCraft II is free-to-play, you can download the game client from the StarCraft II Official Game Site.

FRIENDLY DISCLAIMER: This Mod and all campaign files are free. This means, all who work on Mass Recall are putting their free time into an incredibly comprehensive remaster of all of StarCraft and Brood War, including entirely new custom campaigns such as the Stukov Series and Enslavers Redux. Thus, there should be absolutely no expectations that bug fixes or new features will be released in any sort of timely manner. This is a "we'll get to it when we get to it" situation. Please be aware the modders here have work lives, family lives, and simply do not have the energy to maintain a lively work cycle to keep the Mod 100% up to date. We do promise we will release updates when we feel they are ready to be released. We hope that you understand our position on this.

Installation
“Uh... how do you work this damn thing?” – Marine
Auto-Installation
(for Windows, if you're using Mac follow the manual installation guide below)
For a fresh auto-install please carefully follow these steps:
1. Download the SCMR installer and the required files (see the "Downloads" section above).
2. Move all downloaded ZIP-Files and unzip the installer to your StarCraft II installation directory. The default path to it is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\".
3. Run the installer.
4. After SCMR is successfully installed, use the shortcut on your Desktop to run SCMR.
Auto install video guide by DeltronLive
Note that this is for an older version, just make sure you have all the latest required files specified in the "Downloads" section above, otherwise the process is the same.
Manual Installation
If auto-install fails and/or you would like to manually install SCMR, please carefully follow these steps:
1. Download the required file sets (see the "Downloads" section above). For StarCraft: Mass Recall to work properly you need to download the Campaign Maps - that are bundled with the Main Mod (SCMRmod) and a "dummy" Cinematics Mod (SCMRcinematics) - as well as the Assets Mod (SCMRassets) and a Localization Mod (SCMRlocal).
2. Then extract all ZIP-Files to a folder of your choice. The extracted folder should look like graphic [1] below.
3. Now, open your StarCraft II installation directory where the StarCraft II.exe (WIN) or .app (MAC) is located. Per default this is on your primary C: drive under "Program Files (x86)" (WIN) or "Applications" (MAC). The standard paths to the StarCraft II installation directory are shown below.
Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II"
Mac OSX: "Macintosh HD/Applications/StarCraft II"
The StarCraft II installation directory should look similar to graphic [2] below. Note that you may need to create the "Maps" folder here if it does not already exist. Then move the folder called "Starcraft Mass Recall" (with lowercase "c") from the extracted folder to the "Maps" folder within your StarCraft II installation directory. The "Maps" folder should now look like graphic [3] below.
4. Next, move the "Mods" folder from the extracted folder into the StarCraft II installation directory (the same place as the "Maps" folder). Your "Mods" folder should now have four Mod files and resemble graphic [4] above.
5. While your newly placed "Starcraft Mass Recall" folder within the "Maps" folder should now look like graphic [5] below.
Other (older) manual installation guides:
- Step-by-step Installation Guide (English)
- Installations-Handbuch (Deutsch)
Alternative ways to play
If the above doesn't work for you, first and foremost make sure that:
- you have all the necessary files in the right directories
- you've set the correct paths for the shortcut
- you're running the latest version of StarCraft II
Alternative way to play without the shortcut:
- locate SC2Switcher.exe in the Support folder (your StarCraft II installation directory)/Support
- locate the SCMR Campaign Launcher file in (your StarCraft II installation directory)/Maps/Starcraft Mass Recall
- drag and drop the SCMR Campaign Launcher file to SC2Switcher.exe
If you wish to play while logged on to Battle.net, you will need to take the following steps:
- Launch StarCraft II using the Battle.net launcher
- Alt-tab to Desktop
- Launch StarCraft: Mass Recall using the created shortcut
Note that you can still save and load any SCMR map, as long as you're logged in.
Bonus Campaign - Enslavers Redux Installation
ZIP Download - https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/files/3246278
This file includes a new 30-mission extra bonus campaign "Enslavers Redux" by OmegaWeaponX! This series contains 4 episodes, with 9 unique maps per Terran, Protoss, and Zerg races, with 3 epilogue maps. Content and story is based on the original Enslavers custom maps in StarCraft and Dark Vengeance maps in Brood War. Features brand new dialog and story, missions, and enhanced heroes with their own level-up mechanics! Learn what happens between the major StarCraft episodes and the events leading up to StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty!
While this custom campaign can be played stand-alone by opening up the unique Enslavers Redux Campaign Launcher and launching missions from there, it is also integrated into Mass Recall via the "Extras" menu. In order to load it properly in for the Mass Recall Launcher to work with this campaign, follow these instructions:
- Download the above ZIP-file containing Enslavers Redux
- Go into your StarCraft II folder -> SCMR Mass Recall -> Extras:
- Within Extras, place your ZIP-file, then uncompress it there. You should have a folder that says 8. Enslavers Redux. It should look like this now:
- You've got Enslavers Redux installed! Now from the SCMR Campaign Launcher go to Extras and click on the Enslavers Redux menu panel. You can launch any mission from here or open the Enslavers Redux Campaign Launcher and launch missions from there!
Please note - This campaign has no unique audio for voices and as such it is required that subtitles are enabled in order to actually read what transmissions are saying :)

Troubleshooting
“I swear it's always some damn thing.” – Joeyray
Make sure to check out the auto install and manual install video guides also linked above. The end result in these videos is the same, regardless of install method.
Also make sure you're using an up-to-date version of StarCraft II.
Common issues:
- Param/Value/-Error: If lots of texts are like that, you may have a problem with your Mods: Delete SCMRmod and SCMRlocal, and re-download them from the links above. If it is only one or two lines (say, a mission objective), report it in the comments section (in that case, please specify which language you are playing in).
- Dependency cannot be loaded: The Mods are not at the proper place. Check that you have put your Mods (SCMRmod, SCMRassets and SCMRlocal) in the "Mods" folder, as on the pictures above.
- Unable to load map: Your Maps are not at the proper place. Check that you have put the episode files such as "1. Rebel Yell" in a folder "Starcraft Mass Recall", itself to be placed in "Maps", as on the pictures above.

In reply to Goppygon:
It's in this folder!
I'm able to play all campaign except this one. look at the screenshot:
https://pasteboard.co/Ja2SRuM.bmp
The folder is this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Maps\Starcraft Mass Recall\1. Rebel Yell
The game opens fine, and I'm able to play overmind and the other ones, only rebel yell that gets this error:
https://pasteboard.co/J9QjfWU.png
"unable to find map"
In reply to Salga_125:
Hey guys I think I know what the problem is. Rebel Yell Starts with the classic intro cutscene from BroodWar. If you disable the cinematics, you get the "unable to open map" error. To fix it go to options/gameplay in the SCMR menu and enable cinematics. Also, make sure you download the SCMR cinematics pack (I use the english one) and put it in the "Mods" folder. Hope it works for you!
In reply to SpaceCowCreations:
unfortunately it is not working, the options/gameplay in the SCMR menu doesnt have an "enable cinematics" option, here is a screenshot:
https://pasteboard.co/JadSbzP.bmp
The SCMR cinematics pack is already in Mods folder, screenshot:
https://pasteboard.co/JadSTZr.png
Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately I'm still unable to play Rebel Yell, I'm able to play all other campaigns.
In reply to Salga_125:
You need to replace the file "SCMR cinematics" with the one right here: https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/files/2819339
Notice the file size: the 282kb file its causing the issue. When you replace it you'll be able to see the cinematics option when you launch the game. Make sure you check the box and try again.
I made a quick Screenshot, you need to verify the file you use is 950mb : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hhWfF9f9TftNLnxRIwv7JEv11qJz_7kR/view?usp=sharing
In reply to SpaceCowCreations:
IT WORKED! thank you so much SpaceCow! Now I"m able to play rebel yell!
let me ask you a quick question, there is a cheat to auto win the mission? because I want to see all cutscenes that I missed playing overmind, the fall and the stand.
In reply to Salga_125:
For some maps, you can type "there is no cow level" for the auto-win. If not, you can use the good old SC1 godmode cheat "power overwhelming" or the SC2 "terribleterribledamage" Good luck bro!
Got my account hacked after isntalling this, looks like has virus inside
In reply to fires3as0n:
There are thousands of people who played this, I did and no account hack and my account has a bunch of money put into it. Also sc2 map files can't infect your PC, they are isolated to what sc2 engine can do. So accept you had bad security and reset your password with something better instead of slandering this amazing work.
Another Bug in Cinematics, during Silent Scream, after Victory, when the cinematic is playing Kerrigan cloaks and then the camera pans to the siege tank and nothing happens afterwards
Hello , I wanted a fresh start and cleared all progress, but wanted to let you know that you actually can't start from the very beginning because Boot Camp won't load up. Something along the lines of (Unable to Load Map). Couldn't get past it so I had to unlock all missions in order to progress forward. Just something for you to look at.
Edit: I simply re-updated the files and it all worked out! My apologies :)
Back with another problem, this time in Enslavers Dark Vengeance Episode 2. Zeratul does not have the Shadow Walk ability. I got to level 3 in the previous Episode, all artifacts and skill level points. And yet he does not have the ability, which as I understand is supposed to be a base ability. I've tried accessing the HotKeys and assigning a new letter to that ability (the ability does show up in the HotKeys menu), but that does not work. I've tried making him invincible and then racking up points, that's unlocked the Void Prison, but not the Shadow Walk ability. And it is impossible to beat the mission without Shadow Walk. Does anyone know why?
I am not sure , I will try to take a look , but perhaps you need to delete the Mass Recall bank as well
In reply to omar_n001:
I just tried deleting enslavers and mass recall bank files. Did not change anything, he still doesn't get shadow walk when he reaches level 3. I tested on protoss enslavers mission 1 and 2 and both have the same issue.
Hello, I now have additional questions for Enslavers Episode 1, this time concerning the mission The Final Push. I've heard that killing the Cerebrate on that mission is suppose to turn the Zerg 'off'. That is, they stop attacking and just stand there, you can choose to kill them or ignore them. However, they keep attacking me when I play. Am I wrong and they are supposed to stay active and hostile, or is there a problem with my game? Second question on the same mission. I don't think I have any Iridium or Palladium containers. I instead had "mineral nodes" scattered on the map, but I couldn't grab them at all. With any unit. That I'm pretty sure, is something that is actually wrong with the game. Both of these occurred without me using cheat codes, so that shouldn't be it. I know that the Zerg stayed active after the Cerebrate died on the last version of this I played. They stayed active after the destruction of the Hives on 'Ruins of Tarsonis' and Cerebrates on 'To The Chain the Beast' as well. I haven't played those missions yet on my version (Enslavers 7.3, main game is either 7.1 or 7.3, I'm not sure which), so I don't know if that's still the case. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
In reply to missourielephant:
They will continue attacking, but they should stop sending attack waves at your base and the Torrasque should stop attacking, too. I think on hard+, they will continue attacking though. Not sure been awhile since I look into that.
The iridium/palladium issue was resolved by omar. You can download the fix for that as well as other things here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AZNHlGAmNF56gd5ZBEd7Vae1uZ54JNpr

And to answer your achievement question from your other post, the achievements are broken. I have gotten timed achievements that I shouldn't have gotten because I was over time. So don't be surprised if some of them don't work or give it to you when you didn't do it.
In reply to squidntrolloctopus:
Okay then, thank you for answering all of my questions.
Hello. I use to play this mod some years ago. I wanted to play it now again but have a problem.
I did the "auto-install" method, no problems, and got a shortcut on the desktop. When going into it I end up on a black map. I can see everything but just a black map. Should I not see a menu or something here? Then I decided I will do it the old way I use to do it long ago, by going into editor, test, save, that method. Still ends up on the same blank (black) map.
What am I doing wrong? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.
In reply to hume871:
Ok, it's fixed now. I just did the manual install instead. I don't know how to delete the above post or edit it anymore, so this was the next best thing I could think of.
Hello. This is a question regarding The Enslavers mission 'The Rescue'. I cannot get the achievement Search and Rescue to unlock. I'm playing on Normal difficulty, and I have not used cheats. Other achievements have unlocked, so I know that's not the issue.
The way I like to play is to clear everything up to the Danimoth with my original team, plus two tanks I immiediately buy from the black market compound. Then I rescue the Warbringer, which unlocks the bonus objective to rescue the stranded Protoss in the forest. I tell reinforcements to save Protoss in the lab, instead of being deployed to me. I can then quickly clear the forest and get 4 (sometimes 5) groups within 5 minutes. I then rescue Danimoth, and once the fleet on Banshees fly by usually a sixth group has been rescued. I know that the group of Dragon Knights/Immortals don't seem to count as one of the groups, but I can get them too. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Is it supposed to 5 minutes from the very start of the mission? That's not a time I can beat. Please anyone, this achievement has been one that has been frustrating me for awhile now, I feel that it should be unlocking but it simply refuses to do so.
Hi! it's me again. Time for another SCMR update. Today's changes are all about the mighty protoss and their fearsome warriors. I made some changes to the models and death animations of every single protoss unit and building (even the interceptor). I also modified all the Nerazim faction skins (they now match better with each other) and edited some hero portraits (Mengsk, Dugalle, Stukov, Fenix and Retro Artanis). This one was a lot of work so I will take it easy from now on fixing bugs and making minor edits. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I had to upload this as fast as possible so I kinda rushed it a bit. There might be some bugs or wonky edits that I will fix later.
