StarCraft: Mass Recall
StarCraft: Mass Recall (SCMR) is a project that recreates the classic StarCraft and Brood War gameplay as well as the entire single-player campaigns within the StarCraft II engine. StarCraft: Mass Recall contains 68 maps, 59 from the original StarCraft/Brood War game, 3 that were hidden or deleted on various StarCraft supports, and 6 from the 1998 demo campaign.
You need to have StarCraft II installed in order to play the Mod. StarCraft II is free-to-play, you can download the game client from the StarCraft II Official Game Site.

FRIENDLY DISCLAIMER: This Mod and all campaign files are free. This means, all who work on Mass Recall are putting their free time into an incredibly comprehensive remaster of all of StarCraft and Brood War, including entirely new custom campaigns such as the Stukov Series and Enslavers Redux. Thus, there should be absolutely no expectations that bug fixes or new features will be released in any sort of timely manner. This is a "we'll get to it when we get to it" situation. Please be aware the modders here have work lives, family lives, and simply do not have the energy to maintain a lively work cycle to keep the Mod 100% up to date. We do promise we will release updates when we feel they are ready to be released. We hope that you understand our position on this.

Installation
“Uh... how do you work this damn thing?” – Marine
Auto-Installation
(for Windows, if you're using Mac follow the manual installation guide below)
For a fresh auto-install please carefully follow these steps:
1. Download the SCMR installer and the required files (see the "Downloads" section above).
2. Move all downloaded ZIP-Files and unzip the installer to your StarCraft II installation directory. The default path to it is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\".
3. Run the installer.
4. After SCMR is successfully installed, use the shortcut on your Desktop to run SCMR.
Auto install video guide by DeltronLive
Note that this is for an older version, just make sure you have all the latest required files specified in the "Downloads" section above, otherwise the process is the same.
Manual Installation
If auto-install fails and/or you would like to manually install SCMR, please carefully follow these steps:
1. Download the required file sets (see the "Downloads" section above). For StarCraft: Mass Recall to work properly you need to download the Campaign Maps - that are bundled with the Main Mod (SCMRmod) and a "dummy" Cinematics Mod (SCMRcinematics) - as well as the Assets Mod (SCMRassets) and a Localization Mod (SCMRlocal).
2. Then extract all ZIP-Files to a folder of your choice. The extracted folder should look like graphic [1] below.
3. Now, open your StarCraft II installation directory where the StarCraft II.exe (WIN) or .app (MAC) is located. Per default this is on your primary C: drive under "Program Files (x86)" (WIN) or "Applications" (MAC). The standard paths to the StarCraft II installation directory are shown below.
Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II"
Mac OSX: "Macintosh HD/Applications/StarCraft II"
The StarCraft II installation directory should look similar to graphic [2] below. Note that you may need to create the "Maps" folder here if it does not already exist. Then move the folder called "Starcraft Mass Recall" (with lowercase "c") from the extracted folder to the "Maps" folder within your StarCraft II installation directory. The "Maps" folder should now look like graphic [3] below.
4. Next, move the "Mods" folder from the extracted folder into the StarCraft II installation directory (the same place as the "Maps" folder). Your "Mods" folder should now have four Mod files and resemble graphic [4] above.
5. While your newly placed "Starcraft Mass Recall" folder within the "Maps" folder should now look like graphic [5] below.

- Installations-Handbuch (Deutsch)
Alternative ways to play
If the above doesn't work for you, first and foremost make sure that:
- you have all the necessary files in the right directories
- you've set the correct paths for the shortcut
- you're running the latest version of StarCraft II
Alternative way to play without the shortcut:
- locate SC2Switcher.exe in the Support folder (your StarCraft II installation directory)/Support
- locate the SCMR Campaign Launcher file in (your StarCraft II installation directory)/Maps/Starcraft Mass Recall
- drag and drop the SCMR Campaign Launcher file to SC2Switcher.exe
If you wish to play while logged on to Battle.net, you will need to take the following steps:
- Launch StarCraft II using the Battle.net launcher
- Alt-tab to Desktop
- Launch StarCraft: Mass Recall using the created shortcut
Note that you can still save and load any SCMR map, as long as you're logged in.
Bonus Campaign - Enslavers Redux Installation
ZIP Download - https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/files/3246278
This file includes a new 30-mission extra bonus campaign "Enslavers Redux" by OmegaWeaponX! This series contains 4 episodes, with 9 unique maps per Terran, Protoss, and Zerg races, with 3 epilogue maps. Content and story is based on the original Enslavers custom maps in StarCraft and Dark Vengeance maps in Brood War. Features brand new dialog and story, missions, and enhanced heroes with their own level-up mechanics! Learn what happens between the major StarCraft episodes and the events leading up to StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty!
While this custom campaign can be played stand-alone by opening up the unique Enslavers Redux Campaign Launcher and launching missions from there, it is also integrated into Mass Recall via the "Extras" menu. In order to load it properly in for the Mass Recall Launcher to work with this campaign, follow these instructions:
- Download the above ZIP-file containing Enslavers Redux
- Go into your StarCraft II folder -> SCMR Mass Recall -> Extras:
- Within Extras, place your ZIP-file, then uncompress it there. You should have a folder that says 8. Enslavers Redux. It should look like this now:
- You've got Enslavers Redux installed! Now from the SCMR Campaign Launcher go to Extras and click on the Enslavers Redux menu panel. You can launch any mission from here or open the Enslavers Redux Campaign Launcher and launch missions from there!
Please note - This campaign has no unique audio for voices and as such it is required that subtitles are enabled in order to actually read what transmissions are saying :)

Troubleshooting
“I swear it's always some damn thing.” – Joeyray
Make sure to check out the auto install and manual install video guides also linked above. The end result in these videos is the same, regardless of install method.
Also make sure you're using an up-to-date version of StarCraft II.
Common issues:
- Param/Value/-Error: If lots of texts are like that, you may have a problem with your Mods: Delete SCMRmod and SCMRlocal, and re-download them from the links above. If it is only one or two lines (say, a mission objective), report it in the comments section (in that case, please specify which language you are playing in).
- Dependency cannot be loaded: The Mods are not at the proper place. Check that you have put your Mods (SCMRmod, SCMRassets and SCMRlocal) in the "Mods" folder, as on the pictures above.
- Unable to load map: Your Maps are not at the proper place. Check that you have put the episode files such as "1. Rebel Yell" in a folder "Starcraft Mass Recall", itself to be placed in "Maps", as on the pictures above.

If the intro is omitted, then battlecruiser Aleksander does not appear on the map.
https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/starcraft-mass-recall/issues/134
Start the mission from the beginning and do not interrupt the introduction.
I think it's doable, but there's really no fun involved, lots of staring at loading screens and probably a reduced Hard disk lifespan from the continuous load/save.
In reply to Forge_User_06201278:
HDD is constantly being read and written (swap memory). It won't reduce it's lifespan unless it's not an HDD but an SSD instead, those do have limited read / write cycles and die afterwards.
OMEGA, the final map of Zerg (QoB), in Brutal mode, is unbeatable .
anyone here who confident to pass this map?
Please fix episode 3 from Shadow of Deception - Enslavers Redux, it doesn't work!
I am probably more of a bronze player (I don't actually know since I don't really play online other then co-op), but I have beaten almost the entire campaign on brutal (I am half way through Ep6 and going pretty good so far). In my opinion, it is more of luck then skill. I find that I had to save and load a lot on some missions. If anyone really needs help, I am more then welcome to make a video to show you how I at least beat it, but I would highly recommend at least giving it a few tries yourself before asking. It is funny because I found Rebel Yell and Iron Fist to be more challenging then the rest of the campaign so far or it could be that I am bad at Terran. For me, the difficulty from easiest to hardest went like this:
Episode 4 (I barely had any issues with this entire episode)
Episode 2 (Only a few struggles but nothing too bad)
Episode 6 (As of writing this, I haven't completedit yet, but so far it is not as difficult as Terran campaigns for me. I thought mission 3 was going to be bad since there is 6 AI attacking you, but that mission was a lot easier then it seemed.)
Episode 3 (wasn't really challenging to me but Dark Archons and Dark Templar in Episode 4 made it a lot easier)
Episode 1/Episode 5 (For me they were about the same struggle but that could be because I am bad at terran.
Siren, how could you even do that?
I am an ex diamond, and while I managed to complete many scenarios on Brutal, most of the later ones felt totally impossible. Actually barely possible on hard.
Barring some unknown to me cheese strategy, all I can think of is that you memorized every single incoming attack wave and planned accordingly.
Other than that, bloody congratulations.
Now I really feel guilty of lowering to Hard sometimes.
In reply to Forge_User_06201278:
Thanks for the congratulations. It really felt impossible to me as well. On some extremely challenging missions I easilly failed about 8-10 times, then I opened an entire unit list and pondered what composition I should use and when I have to get my 2nd base. Of course if anyone is beaten that many times he will memorize when the enemy waves will come, roughly at least. But the composition of the waves was quite random I guess. I even thought 'is this AI deep learning my movement??' when devourers assaulted my mass BCs.
In Protoss mission I felt quite comfortable except for ep3 mission 10. And all the problems were from Terran for being unable to defend themselves from Zerg, especially defilers. Enemy spell casters will use their energy immediately when they're attacked, so using this cleverly will help you to defend effectively. And it's recommendable to get an expansion as fast as you can. In Zerg mission defilers will save you. Ep6 is arguably the hardest one and DEFILERS WILL SAVE YOU. I bet Serral can't clear this on brutal without defilers.
Enemy units are almost limitless. you'll have to get asymmetric power by using right units and skills.
In reply to siren0013:
I am going on Episode 6 mission 8 and I have not touched a single defiler yet. Are the last 3 missions super challenging? I haven't really been struggling all that much so far.
Hello, just finished ep 0-7 now on brutal. I'm enthused with this new difficulty, it was perfect. It took 14 hours just to clear Omega, it's worth it. Hope every SC fan will try this. It's doable, even for a silver tier player like me, while it seems impossible.
And I've found some errors :
1. Science vessels are not selected when I use Ctrl+Click.
2. I remember when I did hard difficulty on ver 6.2 enemy corsairs used disruption web on my colonies in ep6 missions, but they didn't on brutal difficulty ver 7.1. Is this intended?
3. In ep7 I cannot skip opening cutscene till planet zoom-in scene is over.
4. In ep7 mission 4 I cannot control Protoss units if I skip opening cutscene.
5. When starting ep7 mission 4, 5, and ending mission 5, mission title is incorrectly displayed on the loading screen.
6. In ending cutscene of ep7 mission 4 the dialogue is broken. Stukov says the same things over and over throughout the cutscene.
I played these episodes on version 7.1, not 7.1.1, so I'm sorry if some of these issues are already fixed.
I will play enslavers redux when time allows. So much thanks for all the efforts, and I'm waiting for the new updates. This mod makes me feel happy to be a SC fan.
Have you guys thought of using the UED mod for the UED Unit skins? Also the new cerberus zerg skinset would be great for the UED slave broods!
In reply to Tarsonis7:
The slave broods of the UED didn't need direct cybernetic control devices implanted on them. The UED controlled a nascent overmind which in turn controlled their Broods.
Likewise, Shezar's scavenger's don't need cybernetic control devices for their zerg either; they control a Cerebrate.
Cerberus, post Starcraft II have neither an Overmind nor a a Cerebrate to control their Zerg, hence the direct cybernetic control devices implanted on individual Zerg.
We should see the retro models Blizzard released however: SC1 marines, zealot, and hydralisk.
As well as the Tyrador Behemoth battlecruiser.
We should see Umojan skins a swell, but not all of them.
Marines only and maybe the Shadowguard.
Not tanks or battlecruisers as the ones blizzard made are variants of modern dominion units.
I have put all files to the root folder of my starcraft 2 and the file said there were no problems, however the shortcut didn't create.
So regarding some of the compatibility issues of the Enslavers Redux bonus campaign in Extras, I replay'd personally the first mission and while it starts out fine and triggers fire as expected, some clear bugs with the SCMR mod were present, including having tech you shouldn't have (Raven's, Battlecruisers, etc) and the victory briefing Continue and Quit not working.
Should be overall easy fixes, but I can understand the frustration there. So sit tight, I'll be working on those updates into the next SCMR update along with other bug fixes and updates to the larger SCMR campaigns and mod.
In reply to OmegaWeaponX:
Thank you Omega; I appreciate it.
I am personally looking forward to beginning the enslavers campaign. I've been waiting four years for its completion. Then I waited a little longer for the most recent update to mass recall which enslavers will be using.
I'll begin the campaign with the next update. Thank you for all your hard work.
I saw - Dave has got the skills and the talent. I'm on the fence about adding them just yet to the next 7.2 update, however, since Blizzard released the original SC:R portraits (the non 3D model vers found in SC:R) along w/these units. Ideally - Blizzard will release SC:R unit models and portraits for all BW type units in the coming months and we'll stick to that in true retro form. That said - there's something to be had with 3D retro models. Perhaps in a perfect world we can have a new option toggle to use 3D retro or 2D SC:R retro portraits, but we don't have nearly enough of that to make it a viable option. We are in desperate need of more retro models for some units/heroes, but we'll just have to see what Blizzard releases and what Dave releases
Dave has released an Ultralisk and a Hydralisk remastered portraits and they're pretty cool. You should check them out! :)
In reply to Forge_User_03138892:
Is this an update, or we must download new scmr mod?

AFTER THE PLAY VIDEO THERE S NOTHING HAPPENED.

AND AFTER CLEAR THE MISSION THERE S VICTORY SCREEN.
IF I CLICK NEXT MISSION, THIS DOESN'T WORK.
In reply to civcivcivcivciv:
Oh yeah, Enslavers is kinda broken right now.
