1) Dark Archon merge is available early on in Episode 4 (you can morph Dark Archons as early as the second Protoss mission on Brood War but cannot research any upgrades for them). It is normally available only at 4-7 The Insurgent mission. 2) Argus Talisman Research (in the Templar Archives) do not increase the max energy of the Dark Archon to 250, nor its starting energy to 62.5 after research. The upgrade seems to do nothing. 3) The unit still uses its Sc 2 quotes instead of its Sc 1 ones.
