Suppose you can read a replay database for a given map, all 1v1 games.  It would be awesome to mark which bases players took and which bases were attacked (even if the base survives and just some workers or defenders got killed there).  So ANY fighting in the area of a base.  Actually scratch that, just mark the location of attacking ANYWHERE.

Then make a map overlay showing which areas of the map are hot because of battles, and a separate overlay indicating how often (as a percentage or color/pattern indicator) a given base on the map is taken.

THIS OVERLAY MUST BE DERIVED FROM A GIVEN SPAWN PAIR!  In a four player map you have to compute this for spawn1 vs spawn2 SEPARATELY from spawn1 vs spawn3 to understand how players REALLY play the map.

Perhaps the map analyzer can be trained to read this data and guess what it will look like on a new map.
