These maps are based on the above SC1 mod/maps by maverck and work by Blizzard (of course) and Ultraling and Jones313. They are fully backward-compatible with the previous Terran and Zerg campaign maps. Many thanks, props and much love to all who contributed. I could NEVER have completed this project without all their hard work.
Also thanks to Forsworne for the non-glowy Tassadar model and b0ne123 for the Kerrigan and Tassadar Hero Icons.
Special thanks as well to Telenil who has been quite helpful with detailed descriptions of errors and issues; also to Superfield and Jimm3110 for all the feedback and suggestions. Some of the changes and improvements would not have been done without these good fellows.
These maps are a labor of love. I learned the SC2 Editor on my own, through inference and other maps. These maps took about 6 months to complete in my spare time.
I am interested in the possibility of being a professional programmer, developer, or game designer.
I have not made these maps seeking to make any profit nor do I claim any ownership over the contents. Most of the work was done in advance by Blizzard and the people who made the SC1 Terran and Zerg campaigns.

These maps are meant to be re-creations of the original game. I have added/tweaked a number of things from the original SC1mod.SC2mod file. I have included some small surprises as well in the maps, if you explore a bit.
I would like to thank all you dedicated players of StarCraft and RTS's without which this project would be pointless. I hope you all can enjoy these maps as much as I do. En Taro Adun!
4/48/2013 - Is everyone else enjoying Heart of the Swarm as much as I am?? Fantastic campaign, Blizzard. So many good things about it, even if I don't want to spoil it for you, I might spoil it just by mentioning them... Anyhow, just an update, I am finishing school right now so in a few weeks I will have more time to pick these up again and make some more tweaks. Thanks for your patience people.
5/15/2014 - It has been a while since I last posted here, but I just wanted to inform everyone that I will be back to rebalance/debug the maps and mods once the final (Protoss) expansion is out. I haven't played SC2 that much since I got hooked on GuildWars 2 (a game I highly recommend if you like RPGs or WoW-style quest games), but I am eagerly awaiting the new expansion so you will likely see more of me once that happens. YOU MUST USE THESE MAPS WITH THE MOST UP TO DATE MOD, or they might not work correctly.
Please make sure you have the Mod in the StarCraft II/Mods folder and the Maps in the StarCraft II/Maps/3. The Fall folder (normally in the 'Program Files' directory - NOT the SC2 folder in 'My Documents').

Some mod problem. There is a place in the editor when the model called "zergling" is associated to the unit "zergling" (so we could change it if we wanted). When the editor gets patched, some things are changed in the links and the Starcraft 2 data files. This has no consequences on regular units, but since the modified data of our mod overrides the WoL data, some units do not update properly. Thus the pre-placed zerglings lose their model, and the game defaults to the white-ish dome.
We had other bugs when the reaper speed upgrade unexpectedly appeared in the machine shop after a patch.
OK, seriously, what's up with the zergling model not being rendered correctly in the maps? They show up like little grey domes. I'm not complaining or anything, I'm actually curious as to what could cause a problem like that.
I finished The Overmind, I wait now the update before starting The Fall :D
I think, in all cases, the work that has been done is awesome, and people shouldn't be arrogant with updates, the creators will do it when they will do it, I think jhaeel91 you can edit the first comment and gather all your comments in one, just be patient :)

A big bug in Mission 10 PROTOSS THE FALL, mineral and gas, there is a time when you just and you will no longer accumulates it but if you have mineral and gas, no have nuclear silos, the Overmind to be attacked increases QUICK life when accumulates mineral and gas not you what brand
control tower is a circle gray to build (annexation to starport) station comsat terran (annexation to command center is orbital comand) defiler is a ugly infestor
in the early missions protoss, the Zerglings have a physical aspect to a gray circle with square
I have a problem with the mission 9 in the fall, when attacking the cerebrate, the screen freezes and after me about 40 seconds to play the game again but in 0.5 seconds freezes again and so on ... in version inglish, my e-mail [email protected]

That sounds like you're totally going to screw over those who haven't upgraded to HotS. Maybe it'd be better to make sure that all 6 Episodes are up to the same standard (WoL) first, that way the HotS upgrade will be streamlined and easier.

It's just that this campaign uses an old version of the mod, one that is not updated any more and got many problems over time. We will fix all that when we update the maps to Heart of the Swarm.
I'm having problems with the third episode (1 and 2 ran great, and 4 seems to fun fine as well). Zerglings aren't loading (they're just grey balls) and dragoons have no attack sounds. Dunno if there are any other issues. I just dropped the mod and map into their respective folders. Am I missing something?
Here are the things I noticed, while playing (maybe some or all are already known):
I hope bringing this campaign to the BW mod will fix those issues :)

Works for me. You have to download the mod that applies to this campaign as well as the maps (here).
Have these been updated yet? Even with the most recent file, it tells me the maps are out of date and wont let me play. :/
@Christdaugherty i think you should consider @DEFILERRULEZ kind offer to republish your maps they worked hard on fixing over the past few months :D

I will look into the difficulty issues and other buggy things you all mention when I revisit the Mod and Maps for the HotS release. I hope maybe some of them are solved by the Brood War Mod, which I will attempt to make compatible with these maps.

Hey could you add a episode list links to the top of the the thread like on the other starcraft episode pages? I believe this is the only page without the six episode links. Just makes it bit easier to navigate.
