Empires aren't made in a day. Rome and her empire certainly wasn't made in a day.
The origins of empires go back to the dawn of Mankind... rarely do they survive to colonise the stars.
I made my Empire in a day. I used Empire in a can. Just pop the seal, throw it in the middle of a desert, quickly get more than 500 miles away and turn around to see a large blue nuclear explosion like effect with a massive shockwave that goes around the planet and BOOM! You have a massive empire spawn filling that 500 mile radius around the can. Yep. Empire in a can. Great stuff!
I loved Empire Earth and hated how they took that wonderful game and made it into a rise of nations clone. If you can make an empire earth style map, I would so play that for weeks on end!
