DaveSpectre's Assets
I do all kinds of different kitbashes and retextures.
I am currently struggling with burnout and I am learning to live in some healthy balance. That means I will not release models very often, but sometimes I will make some when I feel like it. So I guess you could consider me semi-retired ? Anyway, I am not doing any requests for the moment, until my mind is healed, which might take a long time. So please do not ask any requests of me, no exceptions (Asking for a fix if model is broken is not a problem). But I still want to do at least some models and share them with you. Hopefully you will find some of them useful :)
Stay healthy and don't forget to rest regularly ! :)
Here you can find a list of models I want to make one day (Note that there is no order to this list): Models I want to make
I would also love to continue making story maps that would include my own models (But that's probably only a dream now. I have very little time and energy for that).
And last but not least, I'd really love to do more commander concepts with videos, because people seem to love those, of course those would require additional models and lot of them. You can find the list of potential commander concepts that I currently have in mind here: List of potential Commander Concepts (on the bottom of the page).
Original credits go to Activision Blizzard and their respective authors. Most of my stuff is made from their models, textures and voicelines, which means, don't use my assets for any commercial purposes. Otherwise you are free to use my models as you want including edits. Crediting is not necessary as long as you don't claim the model as your own. For edited models, I'd like to be credited as original author.

Yeah, request is a request xD. If it was up to me, I'd definitely do a hero with more useful outfit. Thank you, the conversion was tough.
Yeah, it has too visible specular layer. Luckily I reduced it on portrait and in game it is not so visible.
it's so good to see your models return.
If I can give you a suggestion, I suggest to make a page or an index with all your models or at least try to make them.
-SC1 models-
-New faction/variants models-
-Fixed models-
-Original models-
and so on
In reply to zarxiel93:
That is not a bad idea. I may try to do it one day.
You came back with a multiple bangers, Hope you are doing well :)
In reply to ChiekChiek:
Well, I'm not, but at least I have motivation to do some models :)
Wow! That KMC APC looks stellar. The portrait as well.
In reply to ragingballistaee:
Thank you very much :)
Hi Dave, I hope you are resting up well. I am unsure if you are still resting or not considering revisiting requests since it is September, but I have a request for another Terran unit wielding a team colored version of Nova's plasma sword. It's a character model I want to use for the antagonist of a custom campaign I am currently planning out and making.
If you want to try it, can the unit have a Sith Juggernaut aesthetic? Bulky, noticeable in battle, but mostly has robes intermixed with armor. And as for that, do you do animations? If so, a possible charge up, dash, or a melee attack animation? Thank you in advance for reading this.

Just for future reference, until he changes the status of the page, I would operate off the assumption that he's still on hiatus. As someone who's done model work, and have left a project unfinished, that if you have no motivation, it's not going to come back after a couple of months. It's a year or so process to get back to a place where you can care, and that's assuming that everything's going good in life. Not something to count on as being reality.
Dave might come back, he might take up requests again, but honestly, I'd sooner not see him do either. Better to not come back early, to just hate the experience, than do at the whim of others, and suffer. Something people should consider. We're not robots. We can't just make everything people want, because people want. We can do what we can do, when we can do it, and asking for anything more is selfish.
In reply to CerberusSC2:
I couldn't probably write it better. It is not even the first time I took a break. There was one from November 2020 to July 2021 and then one in March this year, which wasn't probably long enough.
It is true, that just a couple of months is not enough to get the motivation and mood to do requests. And about everything going good in life, well .... I can't say it is really going good. I mean it is not going completely bad either, but it's just not enough to feel motivated.
That being said, I'm now feeling motivated enough to make models I'd like to make, but who knows how long will that last. For requests tho, it is really too early, because I know that while I love helping people, doing something for them and making them happy, this would just stress me again and I can't allow that in my current state, because that would push back any progress towards healing.
In reply to CerberusSC2:
CerberusSC2, as someone who has very low energy because of mental health problems I definitely understand not wanting to do everything at another person's whim. It's just a lot of pages I see have comments from a while back and I wasn't sure if they were updated about their status or not. Creative and technical work such as modeling or campaign making is best done when you are fully replenished - as I find out from my attempts to make custom campaigns in SC2 - and as such I respect any artist's want to rest until then, as in the case of DaveTheSpectre. And even if they are replenished but don't want to do it, I also respect that choice, as they have their reasons for it. Please do not mistake my response for wanting to push DaveTheSpectre into doing more than he can, but I really appreciate your enthusiasm in explaining his position, it is awesome to see people stand up for others.
In reply to darth_baneling:
Hi, well, I have to say this year has been a real mess so far. Lots of health issues and some psychical and emotional rollercoasters because of relationship and my job.
Your request sounds interesting as I personally love Star Wars, but for this moment I'm not going to return to requests. I'm still not doing completelly well both physically and mentally and I've just got at least a bit of motivation to do some models that I want to do. But I'm not ready for requests yet and I don't know if I ever will be. For now I only intend to finish the two requests I have already promised. Cerberus has summed it up bellow really well.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
I myself have mental issues and I can understand wanting to put off additional work until you get better, often years (as you said, not just a couple of months) are required to deal with problems like the ones you are going through. It is awesome that you take care of yourself in that regard, and by writing my initial comment I just wanted to check in on your status as I was unsure if you have updated your page or not. In all honesty, the model is not needed until a long, long time in the future (To clarify, likely a year into the future, as I am in college and have other things to do as well planning out the rest of the campaign's structure, which means a lot of terrain work, trigger work, studying the editor because I am kinda bad at it, and etc.). The work you have already done on all the models is extremely, EXTREMELY impressive and I say that you definitely deserve the rest, though that is really for you to judge and not for me. Thanks again for responding, and I hope the year will go better for you moving forward!
In reply to darth_baneling:
Thank you for all the understanding and well wishes :) I really appreciate it. I wish you good luck with college and your projects :)
Hello, Dave. I have a question for a request this September. Can you create the Zerg Centilisk and Primal Zerg Basilisk as Roach variant models?
hallo
Hello Dave. I have a few questions.
Question 1: I have seen models that are made by this community and I really liked their designs like the ones from UED First Light by The Oracle. If permitted, are you able to create assets by reusing the models from those campaigns?
Question 2: Are you able to do assets that are parallel to the real world, such tanks like the T-14 or aircraft like the Su-57?
In reply to username4629:
Hello,
1. If they allow me to use their models, yeah I can create something from them.
2. I could make something similar, but I cannot make the exact same look as I'm making the models from already existing SC2 models. I'm not skilled enough to make models from scratch. Eventually it could be easier to use models from different game, or just fanmade models of those vehicles.
However I'm currently deciding to take a break from making models, so I wouldn't expect me to do much.
In reply to username4629:
Hello, For your second question I was rather curious, how closely do you wish tanks to resemble their real world conterparts.
I do have some tanks according to real world design philosophy, but stylized acc. to SCII look.
In reply to WingedArchon:
Hi. I looked at your models including some that resemble real world counterparts and I'm really impressed on how it looks, like the Object 188. So yeah, you could make tanks or aircraft as close as possible, like you did on some of your models.
By the way, I'm learning to create models on blender. May I use some of your models as well? I'll give credit.
