DaveSpectre's Assets
I do all kinds of different kitbashes and retextures.
I am currently struggling with burnout and I am learning to live in some healthy balance. That means I will not release models very often, but sometimes I will make some when I feel like it. So I guess you could consider me semi-retired ? Anyway, I am not doing any requests for the moment, until my mind is healed, which might take a long time. So please do not ask any requests of me, no exceptions (Asking for a fix if model is broken is not a problem). But I still want to do at least some models and share them with you. Hopefully you will find some of them useful :)
Stay healthy and don't forget to rest regularly ! :)
Here you can find a list of models I want to make one day (Note that there is no order to this list): Models I want to make
I would also love to continue making story maps that would include my own models (But that's probably only a dream now. I have very little time and energy for that).
And last but not least, I'd really love to do more commander concepts with videos, because people seem to love those, of course those would require additional models and lot of them. You can find the list of potential commander concepts that I currently have in mind here: List of potential Commander Concepts (on the bottom of the page).
Original credits go to Activision Blizzard and their respective authors. Most of my stuff is made from their models, textures and voicelines, which means, don't use my assets for any commercial purposes. Otherwise you are free to use my models as you want including edits. Crediting is not necessary as long as you don't claim the model as your own. For edited models, I'd like to be credited as original author.

Tried it and actually for me it does the opposite, the lightning gets deleted from all anims.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Does that new plugin work for you. Gives me errors on literally every model, just broken armature, no mesh. Also i upgraded to 3.0 Blenders. Same results.
PS: Can you give me an alternative idea for the Immortal to fix the cannon. I tried the one, you mentioned and it sort of works, except the shading/ lighting ingame is all wrong for that cannon.
Like, char that has red lighting makes the canon red, cause its technically upside down.
In reply to simplycool987:
I haven't tried it, but apparently Enoki uses it and is able to also make death models, so it probably does work well somehow :D
Yeah, that makes sense :/ I have no idea for it actually. Except for one, I am able to fix the broken bone and AlleyV can then move animation onto the new bone in 3Ds max and then it works. So maybe I can ask him.

I heard my name
I highly recommend using the M3Studio, it can allow you to take entire meshes from one model and put it onto another, as well as a near-perfect import/export, and none of this negative bone issues. Pretty much any model listed as unimportable/broken by/in the m3addon is importable/fixed in the m3studio
Also, the m3studio has ongoing support, both for the extension and for the newest versions of blender, and the m3addon does not
In reply to Enoki5708:
Huh, you seem to have eyes and ears everywhere xD
Or perhaps some ghosts or observers. Should I get a detector ?
In reply to Enoki5708:
Must be incompetent, cause i cant get any model to import ok. Just broken armature with no mesh. Which Blender version do i use?
Is the any documentation, installation instruction somewhere, a Readme. Anything?
Nevermind. Installed the latest blender and now it functions.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
I have observers everywhere ;)
In reply to Enoki5708:
Scanner sweep sound intensifies :D
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Ok, im so lost. So i tried the new plugin. Immortal imports OK, canon is fine, lighting ingame is fine, even shield effect is fine. AND THEN, unit casts no shadows. Ok, but it gets better. All units, doodads, object in game around the new model also loose shadows. I kill the units, shadows show up.
I...., i have no words. Old plugin didnt do this. So disheartening. This thing is fighting me, every step.
Edit: I tried just importing/exporting base immortal ex2 model, no tweaks. Same result. So i didnt mess up.
Edit: Also getting some error on different model, where blender tells me it cant divide by 0, when i try to export. Python script error. Why is that model specific?

In reply to simplycool987:
That is more of a question to Enoki, he has some experience. I am really only learning with this new plugin too.
EDIT: I have discussed it yesterday with the author of the new plugin and he said it is a bug and it seems he mad a fix over the night. So if you download the newest version of the plugin, it should supposedly work. It should also work on already made models, if you import them and export them again. I would try it myself, but I am currently at work.
Nuclear archons are now teal? I like that, well done.
In reply to Gumba_54:
Why nuclear ? xD
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
The particulates around the SC1/golden/Ihan'rii archons look like electron shells according to the Bohr model to me.
In reply to Gumba_54:
Yeah, I realized later that this might be what you are reffering to :D And yes, it indeed does look that way :D
Wow, what a model.
Can I use them in my friend's project? If I can use these high-quality models, my friend's project will be more brilliant!
In reply to gushunhe:
Of course :D That is why I make them, so that people can use them :)
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
That's awesome, thx so much
In reply to gushunhe:
You're welcome :)
hey! amazing textures
im kinda new to the editor, though, and im having trouble with custom models, specifically the black ops vulture.
there is an issue with one of the textures, specifically the glow
could someone perhaps help? i would be greatful.
In reply to blueberrilmao:
Hi, are all the textures put specifically in the folders "Assets/Textures" in the import window ? Not more folders, not less ? Because the textures need a specific path to apply, otherwise it glows like this.
