Starcraft 2: Brood's Wrath

Introduction:

This is my first campaign for Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm. I love campaign from blizzard with Kerrigan, coz it's my favourite hero so i got idea to make my own zerg campaign with custom story. But then i got two ideas. Combine C&C 3 and Starcraft 2 together and make one race with this system. After week of making system, units, buildings and ideas + preparing campaign with story i made race called Brood with main hero Kelysa (that's broodmother).

Kelysa

Kelysa, first broodmother unbound, bound to the will of no one. Under her reign, her brood differentiated itself from the zerg into the so called tier 3 evolution. She is obsessed by collecting zerg and hybrid essences to create her ultimate weapon to conquer galaxy. Her will is very powerful and she destroy everything in her path.

Campaign

"Brood's Wrath" is a 5 mission campaign with a lot of action, nice gameplay, custom system, custom units, heroes, structures and building system. Featuring high-quality game, 2 difficulty levels, a lot of different units. Each unit is strong against something else (Infantry, Armored, Air, Massive, Structure)

5 Action missions with storyline of broodmother Kelysa
Play as Brood (New custom race based on zerg)
Several abilities
Ultimate weapons (Units, Buildings with apocalyptic damage)
1 Boss Fight

Story

It started at Char before Kerrigan's return. One broodmother from many called Kelysa started her own evolution of zerg race. She was trying to combine many essences, zerg units, structures of DNA until she found the way how to move zergs to another levels. She upgraded zerg DNA and made drones more useful, created new zerg Town Hall which can morph multiple buildings instead of drones. Now her obsession is too strong, more than herself. She want to move zerg evolution higher than is now. She wants to combine hybrid and zerg essence from two different sources to create Ultimate weapon which can help her to conquer every plant in this galaxy.

Difficulty Levels:

* Normal: A difficulty requiring micro skills, featuring fewer enemies and focus on story and minor challenges.

* Hard: A difficulty requiring good multitasking and micro skills, featuring a high number enemies and focus on challenges .

I just started playing this and have experienced a game-breaking bug. During the Intro of mission 3 the game crashes with the message "An unexpected fatal error occurred."

It always happens after the line that is something like "They are protected by Ancient Hybrids. His attack can destroy our army easily, we have to find a way to kill him quicker"

I don't know if this is limited to just my machine or if it is an error introduced with a more recent patch.

Just finished the campaign on Normal. Very good work, both in terms of story, unique units and execution. Aesthetic design.

How can I start your campaign? Only from galaxy editor? Not from Starcraft?

For anyone wondering, installation is just like most other campaigns. When you extract the .zip file, just drag the entire "Brood's Wrath" folder into your Maps directory under the parent Starcraft folder and everything should work either from the launcher or individual maps.

Great terrain, simple but effective, it gives you a great atmosphere, also the new units are OP as promised, great job, can't wait to see the final weapon (Dehaka ???, Godzilla ???)

Just saw that mission 5 is up, i run to test it, too much hype, who fucking cares about trying LotV prequel when i can finish Brood Wrath campaign?

Narudek,

I have not played your campaign, but I know of your skills from another campaign you were working on. Looking forward to it all!! Is it cool to list your campaign on the Custom Campaign Initiative Site of Sc2Mapster?

Also, I think you should migrate this over to the forums so you get more exposure for testers and feedback.

Thanks for feedback ^^

1. Camera is high because of system. 2. The violet color on Kelysa it shows you like "she is the queen, hero". Has different team color. 3. The boss fight, i will fix that :D 4. Why kelysa red screen, its not kerrigan or someone like that, there is no hero panel. I can just add when kelysa is attacked, alert :D 5. The Marr death, i will fix that but it is blizzard fault. 6. Disable alerts 7. I will add ambush with void rays. 8. The balls from beam are randomly, just for effect on random place with 150 damage.

and i cant use red boss bar coz it will be on left with with objectives.. It is bugged if i dont have hero panel. I will try do protoss campaign very amazing with every effects. But i'm trying this campaign too.

I am definitely in love with this campaign! It remember me of the awesome Marauder campaign, very basic lore, lot of fun and OP shit everywhere, plus... Zerg! Goddamnit finally!

Here's a little lits of my thoughts for now, plus feedback, random style as usual.
The cutscenes and lore are for now pretty basic but still enjoyable.
The camera is so damn high that i cannot even hear the attack sounds effects or death sound effects.
I don't understand why my units are green but the Queen is Violet, then during the boss battle he turns green... Weird mimetism tactics???
Put an advisor when the queen is dead, or add the red screen effect when her health is turning too low, like happens on sc2 hots with kerrigan if i remember well.
The Maar-like hybrid death animation cause a quadre super weird explosion... A bug? Wrong particles effect ???
Suggestion: Use full-Team Color hybrids from Trikodias for the 2 immortal hybrids...
"Eternal Conflict" clear heroes of the storm reference, loved it!
Suggestions for the boss battle: Make the neutral (for nothing suspects) statues undestructible until they start to wake up - Make the hybrid acid spray split into many, is just so easy to move the queen out of the fight and continue to DPS it down - Put the red health bar also to the boss, often i didn't understand if were my ultralisks to be low on health or the hybrid itself - Make that "the hive cluster is under attack" alerts are disabled, you can sort of lock all the action on the rest of the map - Makes some archons or zealots spawn during the boss fight, was pretty easy imho-
During the dialogue during hybrid and the queen, remove the yellow selection ring.
Add more ambushes at our base, all the attacks were easy to block, and they came only after i destroyed the generators.
Still have to understand the random acid bombs... No real damage, no real meaning to me.
Add some HT that does psy storm, the assault on the main base was a simple a-click, even if very swarmy, i loved the feeling... With more defences, more death and explosions! more screams and roars! more action! more ... DESTRUCTIOOOOOON! (Too '80 - '90 movies with Arnold... My brain still hurts)
On mission 3 nice terraining and good luck with the other missions (can't wait for "TOO OP units")

Brood Crawlers are in Brood Warren (Hotkey S) icon from creep tumor and

Believe me Mission 4-5 YOu will have TOO OP units

Last mission will have gameplay time over 20 minutes coz of defend and then it depends on you coz you will play with op units. Then end :D But i'm editing now mission 1,2,3 tooltip of shockwave and small bugs. And skip cinematics. But skip cinematics are a waste of time coz my cinematic has max duration 1 minute (just in mission 3) and if you will defeat from any mission in my campaign. thats bad then :D

Coz its almost impossible. But i can make skip cinematics.

@Narudek: Go "+ I will decrease of units in mission 1 for dominion forces but i cant make units powerful. Coz from mission 3 its too easy kill enemies and from mission 4 you have avaible brood guardians and they are too op when you have horde of them so."

Yeah, I thought you would have something more powerful later so it's all good. I'm not really asking for anything huge either, just something that can reduce the mission time by just a little.

"You will have to just make another Brood Crawler if you want more place or want new expand base."

So you CAN make more Brood Crawlers? I couldn't figure out where you made them, haha

I'll see if I can't get to play these next missions soon. Looking forward to them!
