    Nice looking screen ^_^

As for shadows no offense for asking but try pressing 's' it's the hotkey for toggling shadows in the editor and it's possible you accidently hit it without realising. Otherwise, no idea...

Honestly, I feel sorry for all the undoubtably skilled artists and developers who, rather than being given an opportunity to develop something new of their own are just tasked with copying other games :(

I really don't get your logic. Kids were never mentioned in 1, but having a character stated as the kid of a character from 1 in 2 is somehow a glaring plot hole? Way I see it they've just never had any particular reason to go into detail about Protoss reproduction. Just because kids aren't mentioned in 1 it doesn't mean they didn't exist and that their existence is some kind of mega retcon. It's the same sort of train of thought that I've seen in WC Lore discussions where people are shocked at the existence of females of a species that's only previously shown males simply due to there not having previously been any specific reason to make more than one model for them as they were generally creep races.

Oh I just remembered as it was mentioned before. Nerazim do actually have physiological differences to Khalai Protoss. If you look at their head plates/ridges they tend to be more jagged and pointed whereas Khalai Protoss tend towards being smoother. Interestingly Tal'Darim seem to have similar pointed head plates/ridges, possibly suggesting it's a result of long term exposure to Void energies?

Heh I could definitely see Spartan upbringing for Templar Caste yes :D though perhaps with shades of monastic upbringing too as Templar have a certain mystical side to them too. (Which is part of the reason I actually feel 40k Space Marines or specifically Grey Knights are a far better comparison to Protoss than Eldar but that's another topic entirely)

Judicator Caste I could see having been very much being like monastic upbringing, lots of contemplation and learning the rule, traditions pseudo religious overtones (Protoss religion is confusing btw. Even back in SC1 Aldaris referred to the Nerazim as Heretics. Then again Khas seems to be a somewhat messianic figure to Khalai Protoss)

Preservers is probably highly specialized given Preservers seemingly had a genetic predisposition to Khala sensitivity so probably need training not to be overwhelmed by it.

Khalai Worker Caste... no idea hah. Possibly actually the closest to average human upbringing but with training in practical skills like building, warp smithing etc.

    Not sure about Nerazim.

"In my opinion story wise they changed a lot from BW. Locations, characters, motivations and even events changed from the original game. The general art design is radically different as well. Not to mention a lot of important stuff was retconned. As someone who reads the original manual like a bible it makes me sad.

That being said I don't hate the game. I just think the story belongs in a Warcraft game. More good came out of it than bad at the end of the day."

Fair enough, and thanks for elaborating :) I'm don't completely agree, but I respect your opinion and have no desire to make an issue out of it ^_^

And heh, I remember reading that manual cover to cover many times back when I played SC1 :D great little book. You just don't get game manuals like that anymore...

"Back on topic your theory sounds like it could make sense. In the end I'm pretty sure there are little Protoss running around somewhere. Though for now I'm glad they have shied away from showing them."

Thanks! As I say while it sounds a bit silly I'm not sure it's so crazy! 8D And yeah there's not really been any reason to show kids in the games (though, it does conjure a fun mental image of the Spear of Adun Creche where they put all the Protoss kids from Shakuras and such :D) I wouldn't be surprised if we see Protoss kids in other material at some point though, like a comic or such. Particularly if they did a comic or something set after the end of LotV involving reunifying the Protoss on Aiur.

They don't have mouths and hopefully never will. But SC1 isn't even canon anymore. So I'd wager in SC3 they not only will have mouths but there will be mass effect style "romantic" scenes. Since alien sex is all the rage these days.

I don't see what you mean about SC1 not being canon anymore 0o. As for mouths, funnily enough if there was ever a time I thought Protoss had mouths it was SC1. xD The spot Aldaris had where his 'mouth' would be always confused me >.<

I had been refraining from sharing this silly idea but heck why not. My semi-serious explanation for Protoss breasts (other than my previously stated comments on visual cues for the audience) is they are solar batteries right? Protoss get sustenance from sun and star light. Female Protoss are able to store up some excess energy which they can then expel to feed an infant Protoss.

Or use as a reading light as a friend of mine once suggested x)

Of course none of that explains MALE Protoss having them. Then again it could just be like male humans having nipples - female is the base form when developing in the womb.

P.S. Grats on getting to meet Metzen! Maybe someday I will do... someday...

In respect to the original question, well Protoss get energy from sun and starlight through their skin (they also breathe through their skin) this info is from the official Field Manual BTW as well as the Dark Templar trilogy of novels. This is why Protoss cover so little of their skin. If they did full cover their skin they may well suffocate (I imagine Artanis' armour really 'breathes' ;) )

As such, based on the only real world example I can think of (plants) it's possible Protoss reproduce in a similar fashion. However I don't know enough about plants to know how that is x) but there's no reason to assume that just because Blizzard haven't specifically addressed it that, like Jayborino says, they don't 'do it' in much the same way Humans do =P

The humanlike traits such as boobs and nipples are almost certainly purely design-derived as visual cues for us humans to tell male and female characters apart. A notable factor supporting this idea is that female Protoss do not have particularly big boobs, just enough to help with the feminine curves. Ultimately it's not too different to why Protoss eye and eyebrow expressions are humanlike - to make them relatable to the human viewer.

@Kanitala: Go if that's what you call "being a jerk" than you really need to go outside and meet some real people.

Ok, so by this logic, you are not a real person. Good to know. Also by this logic you should not be getting so worked up, none of the people posting in this thread are 'real'. (I guess judging by the spam we get 99% of us are kitchen seller bots but I digress.)

As for 'Moz the pot stirrer' his first post in this thread he tried to help you, that's what he does. He only lost his temper when you gave him nothing but abuse and responded in kind. The majority of his posts on this site are him trying to help people. I guess some people just can't accept help. But oh well, I forgot, none of us are 'real' eh? ;)

Why are you so hung up on the get a new PC suggestion? You ask for a better way to place water, but don't tell us anything about what would be 'better' for you, then follow up that question with information about Editor lag which you later claim is unrelated to your question despite being the only qualifiers we have to go on to figure out what would make it 'better' for you personally.

You got several replies from people suggesting tweaking settings/not having other programs running so you can optimise the available resources for the Editor and you just ignore them and rant about the get a new PC suggestion. We get it, you can't afford a new PC and that is an extreme solution at best but as others have said you didn't give us a lot to go on, so being so ungrateful to those who still tried to help regardless is a real jerk move.
