Thanks for the screenshots! I'm still downloading the patch on my side, will take a few hrs to complete still.
Some of these look pretty decent, like the new phoenix, owl scouts and the orc heroes. Some look pretty awful, like Blood Mage portrait and the Undead guys. I'm still happy that this frees up some of the work I had planned. It's still better than using straight-up War3 or WoW models for some of these guys.
Well the OP screenshot looks like we'd have bare bones data; just not the stats or spells hooked up. It's better than just assets, especially if they hook up all the relevant sound files at the very least.
I never really understood the fantasy behind this game, so I'm very apprehensive. It's humans vs aliens vs... goo. At least Starcraft makes it easy to understand since the Zerg and Protoss are fairly straight-forward concepts. This Goo thing is... weird.
Truth be told, the game looks more like a glorified tech demo than a game.
New update! Just realized it's been a year since I last touched the troll model, but I decided to give him a facelift and bring him up to something more fitting to Heroes of the Storm quality.
So for the past week, I redid the sculpts for the head, did a proper sculpt of the body (it was a modified Grunt body before) and tripled the polycount. He's sitting at 6500 polies right now, with 1024x textures. I've also split up the textures for the hair and the axes to be separate so I have room to make different hairstyles or weapons in the future.
I'm considering using WoW animations, since the War3 ones are really janky. Still considering my options right now.
First thing first, download the casc viewer, and extract everything, KEEP the folder structure, it is used by my script for auto assigning the right textures
After you extracted everyting with path in place, you must merge the assests folders from each SC2Mod files together, so assets\ is the root folder
T.
I have the files, but I can't import them into 3DS Max since there's no script that works with the latest model files right now. I'm not looking to use the Heroes models straight into SC2, I plan on taking em apart and seeing what can be learned from them. They could be useful for model edits, like swapping weapons or armor pieces.

Okay now having seen that there's absolutely no data for these units in the PTR. I think a data mod would be useful in this case

Is this a PTR patch that you have, or is it live already in other parts of the world?

A bit of a shame we aren't getting the Heroes quality models.

Was kinda hoping there'd be spells too, but the models and sounds are more than enough to get me excited :D

Oh, I'm in the beta. I have the files, I just need a way to import em into Max/Maya :P
