I was wondering about this the other day. I was messing with unit speed, food, cost, time, ect. I was saw the list under SCV/PROBE/DRONE. I THOUGHT about doing this, but wasn't sure it would work :).
Would this be possible to make it a unit could act as a barracks? Or a Barracks could produce a zealot. I looked around at the file a little and I didn't see how it would be possible. But what you are saying it looks like it would work completely. :)
Shouldn't had skip WE, it is really good. Perhaps not as user friendly with regards to triggers and scripts but it was definitely a good warm up for Galaxy =)
Welcome to the forums. You've done a great job at documenting some of the XML info, keep up the good work, :).
Interesting, I got into Blizzard games the same way.. I used to watch my dad play D1, hehe. I also did SC1 mapping with StarForge. That was back when SCMDraft was in Beta still, :(. Hell, I used to have to do my terrain in GUIedit. You guys got it easy now, ^_^.
i would surely hope they wouldn't be that nazi about it. i dont think this site should try to replace the hive but if that's their intentions then to each their own. I like the coding/learning aspect of this site.
yes? if you read it you'd of realized there are sub categories. Tutorials for spells, spell systems, and a request for spells. If you had them all in the same location it'd be madness.
I'm thinking it'd be smart to keep them all together to start off with though.
Welcome to the forums, Genopath! Clan FA sounds somewhat familiar, what are some maps you guys produced? Not sure if you've heard of 'em, but I used to be in the legendary map-making clan, (U)nKnOwN.
Yeah, there's no way to give a player resources currently, i'm assuming that'll be added in the form of a trigger in the near future. As far as our TD stuff goes, vjeux will be back soon, i'll have him head over here.
1) The website was made by ckknight and Kaelten from scratch. The LL tool was made by someone from darkblizz, we had to borrow it from them. They're also the ones that are making the AI. The error messages came directly from SC2, ;). There is a syntax checker somewhere, i'll see if I can find it again for you. However, MilkyWayEdit is going to include syntax checking, etc, in the very near future.
2) Not sure about the the race choosing, :|. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any native functions for player vision. If you look in-game, you automatically have vision of your allies. I think it may work this way. Of course, that'd be rather ridiculous, we'll have to look for more. However, our list is complete. You can do something like... Give the player Observers' or something, just for testing.
3) orly? What language is it in? MWE is in C#, I don't think we've gotten started on this yet. If you can help, you're more than welcome to. Ping me or nicoli_s on the IRC.
4) Well, mapster uses the Curse account database, so everyone with a Curse Account can post here.
For me it's the other way around, they complete me xD
Well, they'll all be rather empty until we start getting a bigger community and more things are released. When GE is released, we'll probably create more forums.
Yeah, I would say it's similar to Java/C languages, but not exact. Close enough to where if you understand one, you'll understand the other, as nZifnab said above.

That should be possible, yes.

Of course not. Besides, THW is War3, we're SC2.

Mmmm, perhaps we need some instructions. We should be able to add a "help" command or something.

So if it just spits back the galaxy file with nothing, it was successfully parsed with no errors? I'm thinking you should stick an:
Pretty cool btw, ;).

@steen-reem: Go
Maybe we'll have to work something out then... I made an icon btw, so you won't see that nasty C# default image anymore, :P.
